ABSTRACT
Today transportation sector has facing many problems with
conventional vehicles like petroleum and diesel vehicles which
releases most of the pollutants like CO2 and Nitrogen Oxide
emissions Which ultimately have effect on human health.
So to reduce this problem there is invention of electrical vehicles but
to fixed battery EVS the owner of the vehicle should wait for long
hours to charge one vehicle and if the vehicle stops in any remote
areas then it is very difficult to charge the battery. So to reduce this
problem and to increase electrical vehicles usage the solution is to
use autonomous battery swapping stations and producing mobile van
technology for charging the vehicle in remote areas the idea ultimately
increase EV adoption in the world which leads to have good human
health.
Introduction To Electrical Vehicle
 An electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more
electric motors, using energy stored in rechargeable batteries.
 The first practical electric cars were produced in 1880s. Electric
cars were popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century,
until advances in internal combustion engines.
Primary Components Of An Electric Vehicle
 Battery
 Motor Controller
 Electric Engine
What is Battery Swapping
 Battery swapping allows EV owners to replace the discharged
batteries with charged ones at the swap stations. When the
battery is discharged, the owner can change it with a fully
charged one.

 This will address the problem of setting up charging stations

and also reduce range anxiety of drivers. Further, battery
leasing can help EV owners save the cost of purchasing a
battery.

 The service is less time consuming and takes only a few

minutes compared to charging at a battery station which could
take hours. It also requires minimum infrastructure.
Battery Swapping work
Charging of Electrical Vehicle
 The batteries are charged with grid electricity either from wall
socket or a charging point.
Types Of Charging :
 Trickle Charge
 Ac Charge
 Dc Fast Charge
Challenges in charging :
 More charging time.
 Battery degradation due to fast charging.
 Does not have grid reliability to support the load.
 Numbers of stations are limited.
Different Car Have Different Battery :
 Every electric car manufacturer have their own concepts on
building batteries and where these batteries place in the car.
 So due to different batteries production should be with high level of
security(short circuits) and stations at different places.

War of standards :
 If there was a single standard battery the
people easily find station.
 Manufacturers would collectively benefit
to sell more vehicles.
Specifications of the vehicle

Body Style 6-Door Hatchback

Electric Motor 47 kw(63 hp),180 N-m
permanent magnet motor

Transmission Single speed reduction gear

Battery 16 kwh(Li-on)
Range 120-130 km
Dimensions 3.0*1.8*1.4 m
Benefits of Battery Swapping:

 Charging time is diminished because battery changeover requires just

3-5 minutes.
 It moves the battery’s possession costs to functional expenses, bringing
EV costs by 30 down to 50 percent.
 Different instalment models, for example, memberships or pay-per-use.
 In contrast with a charging station, a battery-trading station takes a
negligible measure of land.
 Efficiencies in the utilization of batteries have gotten to the next level.
Modelling of Swapping Mechanism
 The design of battery swapping based on Mitsubishi car.
 The design is done for two batteries in the same car.\
Parts Modelled :
 Chassis
 Base plate
 Conveyor
 Batteries
 Pneumatic gripper
 Battery Compartment
 Permanent Magnet Motor
 Electrical Linear Actuator
Analysis Of Chassis
 The most important one in the car is chassis which bear all the
loads in the car doing load analysis for chassis is the suitable one.
 The analysis done is Static Analysis.

Materials used for Analysis :

 Structural Steel

 Aluminium Alloy
Analysis for Structural Steel :
Analysis for Aluminium Alloy :
Additive manufacturing for chassis :
 Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is a
transformative approach to industrial production that
enables the creation of lighter, stronger parts and systems.
 Chassis done using fused deposition modelling.
 To print chassis the material used is PLA.
Companies Using The Battery Swapping
Future scope :
 Smart charging of electrical vehicles is swapping stations.
 Creating mobile van battery swapping for remote areas
people.
 Building a good business model which is advantages to
driver and station company.
 Automated scheduling and billing system for battery sharing
network.
 Forecasting of storage availability in the battery sharing
station and gives message to user
Conclusion

By using conventional electric vehicles with fixed battery it

have so many challenges like range anxiety, driver has to wait
for hours of time in the charging station which causes him as
work delay. By introducing electrical vehicle battery swapping
technology in the world makes to have negligible pollutants in
air, there is no time delay and with the use of appa which is
created by using advanced technology like IOT gives
suggestion to car owner every time and makes his life better
without any stress.
