There are two types of litmus paper: red litmus
paper and blue litmus paper. Blue litmus paper
turns red if the substance is acidic. Red litmus
paper turns blue if the substance is basic or
alkaline. Litmus turns red in acidic solutions and
blue in basic solutions.

Eosin can be used as dye and to stain
cytoplasm, red blood cells, collagen, and
muscle fibers for histological examination.

coloring derived from the seeds of the achiote
tree. It is often used to impart a yellow or
orange color to foods, but sometimes also for
its flavor and aroma.
