Introduction
The FACTS devices STATCOM (Static Compensator) and TCTC (Thyristor controlled tap
changer) are both examples of this type of compensator. We can change the reactive power in
real time. We can deal with different reactive power needs by using a FACTS device with a
controller. With the help of a controller, devices like the Fixed Capacitor Thyristor Controlled
Reactor (FC-TCR) can control reactive power that changes.

 Reactive power is helpful to maintain a system

healthy
Objectives
 Keep PF in the vicinity of UNITY.

 Through the ON/OFF Switching of Capacitors

 Activated by RELAYS

 Automatically Performed by Microcontroller Based Systems CONTROL UNIT

METHODOLOGY

RESULT
All the components were working properly, we are able to reach the incorporation of the FC-
TCR offers the necessary compensation for the needed reactive power. Consequently, satisfying
the demand imposed by the load. Control of the IGBT and switches by a controller reduces the
need for human intervention, which results in more flexibility in the control of reactive power.
