COMPLAINTS OF THE PATIENT :-


Loose stool on and off on the day of admission- morning
20-23 episodes and also had vomiting on day before
admission to the hospital

gastroenteritis

M – MONITORING :
Communication with the nurse :
- DO patient show any incompliance with medication ?
- monitor properly whether the patient is having
episodes of diarrhea
-monitor vital signs regularly
Communication with the doctor :
- Stool culture is not done in the lab investigation to
detect the bacteria
- Culture sensitivity test is not done before prescribing
antibiotic
PATIENT COUNSELLING
 REGARDING DISEASE :-
Gastroenteritis easily spread from one person to
another so to prevent spreading
- maintain a personal and public hygeine:- wash your
hands often. Clean surfaces of room and do laundry often
and clothes should be washed separately.
-clean food thoroughly and cook safely.
- Be aware when you camp or travel
 REGARDING DRUGS :-
- medicines are given to stop vomiting or diarrhea, or to
treat infection
 take medicines as directed and should not skip the dose
- contact your healthcare provider if medicines
are not helping or if have any side effect.
LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION
- drink liquids as directed
- have a bland diet
- rest as much as possible
