What is a Text-Talk

Novel?
A story that is told through dialogues in the social
network.
• Can be in the form of text messaging, e-mails,
letters, instant messages, or blogs.
• Plots are usually about love and passion.
• Cliffhangers are common.
What is its origin?
• This type of literature originated in Japan, where
it has become a popular literary genre.
• The first cell phone novel was “published” in
Japan in 2003 by a Tokyo man in his mid-thirties
who calls himself Yoshi. His first cell phone novel
was called Deep Love, the story of a teenager
engaged in "subsidized dating" in Tokyo.
Deep Love
A Japanese cell phone novel series written by
Yoshi, and is officially the first in its literary
genre.
The series includes four novels which were
later published by Stars Publishing from
December 2002 and July 2003. The series
launched with Deep Love: Ayu no Monogatari,
followed by Deep Love: Host, Deep Love:
Reina no Unmei, and Deep Love: Pao no
Monogatari.
