At the end of this topic, the learner will be able to:

1. Articulate definition of global citizenship, and;

2. Understand the characteristics of a global citizen.
INTRODUCTION
In the previous topics, we discussed about
globalization as the process by which the world
is becoming interconnected due to trade and
cultural exhange. Today, we will know what
extent should we, as a citizen, respond to
globalization.
GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
A person who places their identity with a
global community above their identity as a
citizen of a country. It is someone who:

● Is aware of the wider world

● Respects and values diversity
● Tackles social injustices
● Lives and promotes sustainable living
● Takes action in making the world more
equal and peaceful

A global citizen has an understanding of how

the world works.
