1. Name the 3 Business Flows
Answer:
The 3 Business Flows are
a) Flow of materials and services from upstream to downstream along the supply chain
i.e. from suppliers to their customers
b) Flow of money from downstream to upstream i.e. after the delivery of goods/services
from customers to suppliers
c) Flow of data and information moving in both directions along the supply chain,
between the customers and suppliers, ensuring the required materials/services are
supplied and agreed money is paid

2. Name the 9 activities in Value Chain


Answer:
The 9 activities in Value Chain are classified in 2 groups i.e. Primary and Support
activities.
The Primary activities are inbound logistics, production, outbound logistics
sales & marketing and services.
The Support activities are administrative infrastructure, human resource management,

3. What is the difference between a ‘core supply chain’ and ‘extended supply chain’?
Answer
The difference between a ‘core supply chain’ and ‘extended supply chain’ are
the transactions of a ‘core supply chain’ is between a business organization and its
immediate (tier 1) suppliers and customers. Whereas the transactions of the ‘extended
supply chain’ includes all the suppliers’ suppliers upstream of the supply chain and all of
the customers’ customers (product intermediaries) downstream that handle an item
through to the end user or consumer.

4. What is the difference between ‘supply chain’ and ‘value chain’?


Answer
The difference between ‘supply chain’ and ‘value chain’ is the supply chain focuses on
‘integrating supplier and producer processes, improving efficiency and reducing waste’
and value chain focuses on ‘downstream, on creating value in the eyes of the customer’.
