What is an artifact in a CT scan?
Artifacts are commonly encountered in clinical computed tomography (CT), and may
obscure or simulate pathology. There are many different types of CT artifacts including:
1. Noise
2. Beam hardening
3. Scatter
4. Pseudo-enhancement
5. Motion
6. Cone beam
7. Helical
8. Ring
9. Metal artifacts
