PRACTICES

EXEMPLAR
Y LEADERS
5 PRACTICES OF A
LEADER
1. Model the Way

is authentically embracing and

displaying your values to the people
around you.
Exemplary leaders must model the behavior, standards they
expect they expect from others.
To sum up…

The foundation
of Leadership
is CREDIBILITY
2. Inspire shared views
Without willing followers there can be no leaders.
Having the passion to make a difference, leads people
into exploring opportunities for future.
Leaders need to have a clear purposeful vision. Don’t just
focus on the end result but consider what its going to take to
get there.
3.
Challenge the Process
In a world where vote buying, corruption,
immorality etc., is considered ‘acceptable’ ,
someone has to step up and
True leaders accept and seek challenges, are not afraid to
take risks and understand that risks may lead to mistakes and
disappointments, but still look at those as opportunities to
grow.
4. Enable others to Act

Enabling does not constitute to bossing around and

directing. Know where to look for potential in people
and enable others to take control and initiative.

Entrusting people to certain tasks and knowing when to delegate

it is a leadership behavior while directing and controlling is a
management behavior
5. Encourage the heart

A true leader knows how to recognize

member’s contribution and creates a climate
of celebration.
Try to maintain a positive outlook. No one wants to work with
toxic people. Encourage, appreciate, stimulate and rekindle
people’s focus and energy

destination

It is not an act, but a habit

COACHING
Simply put, coaching is a process that aims to
improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and
now’ rather than on the distant past or future.
The essential part of coaching, is to help people to learn to silence that inner
voice and allow their instincts, or their subconscious, to take over. Sometimes
that means distracting it, and sometimes it’s about exploring the ‘worst case
scenario’ and removing the fear.
“Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential
to maximize their own performance. It is
helping them to learn rather than teaching
them.”
– John Whitmore
