School & Weapon used
 Eric’s & Dylan’s Thought process
– Eric expresses his outrage and
frustration towards inferiors
– He want to establish his lasting
superiority
– He believes in Natural selection
“show them who is god”
– Eric said “I want to leave a
lasting impression on the
world”
– Loved explosions
– He is Unique but
uniqueness equated
loneliness - …”he is
always scared &
nervous, hoping that
people will accept him.”
– He expressed feelings of
“alienation” which
leads to depression.
Why happened?

– Eric and Dylan weren’t very popular and they were frequently bullied.
– They were sick of this so they planned to kill there fellow classmates.
– They didn’t want to kill any particular group of people.
– They wanted to kill thousands.
– They called themselves 'Trenchcoat Mafia'
Massacre’s Day

At 11.10 am both arrived at Columbine-High

► They armed two 20 pounds propane-bombs before
entering the cafeteria.
► Each bomb was set to explode at 11.17 a.m
► When the cafeteria bombs failed, Harris and Klebold
armed themselves with their weapons, and walked toward
the main building
► They moved to the northern most part of building
They shot teacher in hallway, who ran to the library
and calls 911 but bleeds to death
► They reach library where 52 students,2 teachers
and 2 librarians are hiding
The Killings

– 3 students killed in “smoker’s pit”

– 5 students shot on grass next to school
– 2 killed outside of cafeteria
– 1 killed on stairs
– After killing Eric said “This is what we always wanted to
do. This is awesome!”
Rescue arrived

– 11:29
– Rescue arrived at school
– Police found planted propane bombs in the cafeteria
and kitchen.
– Went into library to rescue others.
End of Eric & Dylan

– In 45-minutes of shooting and throwing pipe bombs, 12

students and one teacher are killed, and 23 others are
injured.
– Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold committed suicide in the
library.
Victims
Why ban?

– Mellissa Andersen, a 17-year-old girl  "The reason I believe Eric and Dylan were
really cool to do what they did is because they stood up for themselves”.
– Another "They were hated, so they hated back. They hated back.“
– We can’t allow this. This is not healthy for the society.
– Because after the Columbine massacre, they’ve become unlikely heroes for a
generation of miserable, alienated teenagers around the world - and the appeal
of the pair is growing. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Why do we Care?

– We should care because history repeats its self and this was the fourth deadliest
massacre in the United States.
– We should also care because thousands of kids go to school and doors are open
and people can just walk in.
– So we should care for the safety of children, for the safety of our children.
