Power Supply

What is it?
Filtered DC voltage
A circuit in which ac power is converted to dc power

AC main supply Unregulated DC voltage Regulated DC Voltage

110/220 VAC

2
Voltage regulation
Another factor of importance in a power supply is the amount the DC output voltage
changes over a range of circuit operation.

That is, output voltage will decrease according to the amount of load given to it

Example of capacitor filter
As the ripple voltage is directly proportional to the load current,
the value of capacitor can be determined using the following :

6
RC filter

The ripple voltage can be reduced further by adding RC filter in parallel with capacitor filter.
