Sampling
The process in which an amount of
person’s blood is taken from their
body for diagnostic/medical purpose.
Test Purposes

● Liver Function Test (LFT)


● Complete Blood Count (CBC)
● Differentiate Leukocyte Count (DLC)
● Hemoglobin (Hgb) Test
● Blood Glucose Test
● Blood Enzyme Test
● Blood Oxygen Level
● Blood Cholesterol Level
Procedure
● Assemble the necessary equipment.
● Wash hands and put on gloves.
● Introduce yourself, take consent & explain the
procedure.
● Position the patient with the arm extended to form a
straight-line form shoulder to wrist.
● Select the appropriate vein for venipuncture.

appearance to aid in medical
diagnosis.

Procedure
Point
● Label a sterile, screw-top container with name Collect the sample when
& date. urine has been in your
● Wash your hands. bladder for 2 to 3 hours
● Start to urinate & collect sample of urine
‘’mid-stream’’ in the container.
● Screw the lid of container shut.
● Wash your hands thoroughly.
