Overview: Cristie TBMR

Cristie Tivoli Bare Metal Recovery aka TBMR, recovers systems directly from Spectrum Protect backups
 TBMR Recovery Process

Install TBMR on the client system to be protected.

License the software using a trial or full license.

Perform a standard Spectrum Protect backup.

Boot the recovery environment on the target system and monitor the automated restore process.

Note:

The software gather configuration parameters, including details about the hard disks, operating system, storage controller, network
adapter and network settings.
Installation : Pre-requisites

 Spectrum Protect Backup Archive Client (BA Client) to be installed on the System

 Open File Support using VSS to be enabled ( Windows only )

 Administrative Access to be enabled on the System

 Access to Cristie Portal : portal.cristie.com

Installation : Download Package

Step 1: Login to portal.cristie.com/login

Step 2: Go to Downloads : portal.cristie.com/downloads

Step 3: Click on TBMR > Installers
Step 4: Download Relevant Installer
Installation: Linux

Login to portal.cristie.com > Manage Licenses

This is the default screen when you login.

Keep below information handy with you:

Machine Type: Physical / VM

IP Address: IP of Server

Hostname: Actual Hostname of the server

Platform: Operating System

Signature: collect from the output of “licmgr – p tbmr”. Refer

last page.
License Activation: Activate License

Execute “licmgr –p TBMR --act <activation_code>

License Activation: Activate License(windows)
