Medicinal Biotechnology

In medicine, Biotechnology has been expensively applied in the development of

many drugs, gene therapy, gene testing, immunology and many other novel
treatments.
Biotechnology is also used to develop various vaccines such as insulin and
Hepatitis B.

Agricultural Biotechnology

In this technology, scientists develop new crops by incorporating gene that code
for important characteristics.
Scientists also splice the superior gene from the one plant and incorporate into
another.
GMO crops have been highly successful in Africa and the middle east.

Food Biotechnology

Biotechnology is involved with the infusion of nutrients into food products. For
example, Golden rice is developed which contains beta-carotene by researchers.
Biotechnology also involved with modification of enzymes.
These enzymes are used in making
 Bread
 Syrups
 Cheese
 Meat tenderizing etc.
