PRIME NUMBER
A Number is divisible by one and itself.

Example
2 is divisible by 1 and 2 only.
3 is divisible by 1 and 3 only,

2,3,5,7,11,13,17…..
2 is a only even prime number.
PERFECT NUMBER
Is a number whose divisors (except itself) add upto
itself.
28 is a perfect number
proper divisors of 28 is 1,2,4,7,14,28.

1+2+4+7+14=28

e.g, 6, 28, 496, 8128, ….


Square number
Number that can be formed by counting the
number of objects used in making a square.

 1 4 9

1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100, 121,…


Triangular number
Number that can be formed by counting the
number of objects used in making a triangle.

 1 3 6

1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21 ….


Deficient number
Number whose proper divisiors add upto less than
itself.

Divisors of 16 = 1, 2, 4, 8, 16

1+2+4+8=15

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9….
Fibonacci number
Fibonacci number in which each number is the
sum of the two preceding number.

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, …


Abundant number
Number whose proper divisiors add upto more than
the number itself.

Divisors of 18 = 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18.

1+2+3+6+9=21

12, 18, 20, 24, 30, 36, 40, 42, 48, 54, 56…
Happy number
Numbers for which the sum of the squares of the
digits eventually equals for 1.

Palindromic number
Number having same digits forward and backward

E.g. 121, 102201, 8523258, etc


Kaprekar number
Consider an n-digit number k. square it and add the
right n digits to the left n or n-1 digits. If the resultant
sum is k, then k is called a kaprekar number.

92 = 81, 8+1=9


452 =2025, 20+25=45

2972 =88209, 88+209=297


9, 45, 55, 297, 703, 2728, 5292…
