PURPOSE OF PROCEDURE TEXT

 To describe how something is accomplished through

a sequence of action or steps.
 To tell the steps of making or doing something.
GENERIC STRUCTURE

 Goal/Aim (Tujuan kegiatan)

LANGUAGE FEATURE

•Imperative form (pola kalimat impratif), ex: Cut, Pour, Don’t mix, dsb.
•action verbs: turn, put, don’t, mix, dsb.
•Connectives/conjuctions (untuk mengurutkan kegiatan), ex: then, while,
dsb.
•adverbials (untuk menyatakan rinci waktu, tempat, cara yang akurat), ex: for
five minutes, two centimetres from the top, dsb.
•Use simple present tense
•Mainly of material processes
EXAMPLE OF PROCEDURE TEXT

 HOW TO OPERATE TV
 Television can be operating easily. We can turn on and change the channel of
television set easily. To on this television we need a cable and stop contact.
Then follow this instruction.
 Steps/Methods (langkah-langkah) :
1.Connect the cable of television to an AC wall outlet
2.Switch the television on by pressing the button of power
3.Chose the channel you like by pressing the button of the channel
4.Enjoy the program you like
If you want to turn on the television or change the channel from far distance,
use a remote. It will help you to operate the television easily
EXAMPLE 2

 HOW TO MAKE CHEESE OMELATE

 Ingredients/Materials:
• 1 egg
• 50 g cheese
• 1 cup milk
• 3 table spoons cooking oil
• A pinch of salt and paper
 Utensiles /tool :
• Fraying pan
• Fork
• Spatula
• Cheese grater
• Bowl
• Plate
 Steps/Method :
1. Crack an egg into a bowl
2. Whisk the egg with a fork until it is smooth
3. Add milk and whisk well
4. Grate the cheese into the bowl and stir
5. Heat the oil in fraying pan
6. Turn the omelet with spatula when it browns
7. Cook both sides
8. Place on a plate; season with salt and pepper
9. Eat while warn
EXAMPLE 3

 How to Apply Milk Cleanser

1. Tie your hair or use a neadband
2. Wash your hand
3. Put a measure of cleansing milk into your palm
4. Rub the cleansing milk on your palms
5. Apply the milk to your face and neck
6. Pat your face gently and massage
7. Rinse your face using warm water or a cotton ball
