The main aim of this study was to check effect of different dentifrices after coating
hydroxyapatite (HAP) and silver doped hydroxyapatite (Ag-HAP) on surface of dentine by
plasma spraying technique. For this purpose, hydroxyapatite (HAP) and silver doped
hydroxyapatite (Ag-HAP) were synthesized by co-precipitation method. After that dentine
samples were coated by using plasma spraying. XRD, Optical Microscopy, cytotoxicity and Ag-HAP coated Ag-HAP coated
degradation were done as characterization techniques. It was observed that the coating was
done effectively by HAP and Ag-HAP and had no toxic effects. The degradation analysis
showed that the dentine surface was completely coated by HAP and Ag-HAP and all the
tubules were also closed. Some decrease in the layers of coating was observed but still all the
tubules remained closed after the degradation process. The effects of different dentifrices also
showed that the coating was done perfectly and all the dentinal tubules remain closed when
