1) Asking about someone’s job description
Informal
• I would like to know what you do.
• What are your responsibilities.
Formal
• Could you tell me what your responsibilities are?
• Could you tell me what your duties are?

Simple Present Tense
It is used to show:
• A general action.
• Habitual action.
• Action that not only happening now.
• Fact.
Examples:
 The sun rises in the east (fact).
 The lesson start at 7 every morning (habitual).

The patterns:
(+) Subject + Verb1 + Object + Modifier
(-) Subject + Do/does + not + Verb1 +
Object + Modifier
(?) Do/does + Subject + Verb1 + Object +
Modifier
Examples:
The sun sets in the west
The sun doesn’t set in the east
Does the sun set in the west?

if the subject is the 3rd person (he/she/it) we must
add s/es.

We use do/does to make question and negative


sentence.
