Communication is simply the act of transferring
information from one place, person or group to another.
Every communication involves (at least) one sender, a message
and a recipient. This may sound simple, but communication is
actually a very complex subject.
WHAT IS The transmission of the message from sender to recipient can
COMMUNICATION be affected by a huge range of things. These include our
emotions, the cultural situation, the medium used to
communicate, and even our location. The complexity is why
good communication skills are considered so desirable by
employers around the world: accurate, effective and
unambiguous communication is actually extremely hard.
IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNIATION
Being able to communicate effectively is one of the most important life skills
to learn. Communication itself is defined as transferring information to
produce greater understanding.
It can be done vocally (through verbal exchanges), through written media
(books, websites, and magazines), visually (using graphs, charts, and maps),
or non-verbally (body language, gestures, pitch of voice, and tone). All of
these means of communication skills are essential Soft Skills that are vital for
a successful Career.

Verbal communication refers to the the
form of communication in which
message is transmitted verbally;
VERBAL communication is done by word of
mouth and a piece of writing.
COMMUNICATION Objective of every communication is
to have people understand what we are
trying to convey. In verbal
communication remember the
acronym KISS(Keep It Short And
Simple).
ORAL COMMUNICATION:-
In oral communication, Spoken words are used. It
includes face-to-face conversations, speech,
telephonic conversation, video, radio, television,
voice over internet. In oral communication,
communication is influence by pitch, volume,
speed and clarity of speaking.

COMMUNICATION:-
In written communication, written signs or
symbols are used to communicate. A written
message may be printed or hand written. In written
communication message can be transmitted via
email, letter, report, memo etc. Message, in written
communication, is influenced by the vocabulary &
grammar used, writing style, precision and clarity
of the language used.
Nonverbal Communication =
Communication without words
Nonverbal communication is the
NON-VEBAL process of sending and
COMMUNICATION receiving messages without
using words, either spoken or written.
Also called manual language.

What is a culture?
Culture is the “lens” through which
you view the world. It is central to
what you see, how you make sense of
what you see, How you express
yourself. Cross cultural
communication thus refers to the
communication between people who
CROSS CULTURE have differences in any one of the
COMMUNICATION following: styles of working, age,
nationality, ethnicity, race, gender, etc.
Cross cultural communication can also
refer to cultural differences by means
of language, gestures and body
language. It is how people belonging
to different cultures communicate with
each other.
