INSTANT MESSAGING.

It is the exchange of near real time messages through a standalone or


embedded software.

Unlike chatrooms with many users engaging in multiple and


overlapping conversations, instant messaging usually take place
between two users in a private, back and forth style of communication.

As the name “Instant messaging” implies, it allows users to exchange


conversations in an instant.
HOW TO USE INSTANT MESSAGING
PLATFORMS.
Users must use instant messaging platforms like Messenger, Email, Facebook, etc.

The two parties must know each others usernames, then hit the add friend button.

When the friend request has been confirmed, you can now send messages to each
other.

If you don’t like the person you’re talking to, you always have the option of
blocking them through the settings and you wont see their messages.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF INTANT
MESSAGING?

Its used for real time communication among the users on the internet.

Instant messaging allows users to indicate their availability, chat with each
other, exchange documents and send vital information.

It also can be used anywhere and enables people to communicate from
remote places.

It’s a key form of communication to keep workers connected and coordinated.

Productivity issues with instant messengers.

Security issues with instant messaging.

Ineffective tool for mass communication.

Problematic system for archiving.

Cannot be controlled by management.

This app allows users to

FACEBOOK

Meta Platforms.

students. Its widely used
word wide.
MESSENGER

 Twitter is a microblogging
and social networking
service founded by Jack
Dorsey, founded on March
21, 2006. Its widely famous
for its chaotic environment,
in which users interact with
each other in an unfriendly
manner. It allows the users
to interact using texts and
pictures.
WHATSAPP

 Is an intentionally
available freeware, cross
platform, centralized
instant messaging. It
allows users to send texts
and voice messages, make
voice and video calls, and
share images, documents,
user locations, and other
content. It was founded
on January 2009.
THE HISTORY BEHIND INSTANT
MESSAGING.

It was pioneered during the early internet era. Later in the 1990s, ICQ
was among the first closed and commercialized instant messengers,
and several rival services appeared afterwards as it became more
popular. Beginning with its introduction in 2005, BlackBerry
Messenger, which initially had been available only on BlackBerry
smartphones, soon became one of the most popular mobile instant
messaging apps worldwide. BBM was for instance one of the most
used mobile messaging app in the United Kingdom and Indonesia.
Since then instant messaging apps thrived still to this day and have
become necessities’ to our daily lives.
