The Computer
A computer is a digital electronic machine that can
be programmed to carry out sequences of arithmetic or logical
operations (computation) automatically. Modern computers can perform
generic sets of operations known as programs. These programs enable
computers to perform a wide range of tasks. A computer system is a
"complete" computer that includes the hardware, operating
system (main software), and peripheral equipment needed and used for
"full" operation. This term may also refer to a group of computers that are
linked and function together, such as a computer network or computer
cluster.

2.The Social Media

Social media are interactive media technologies that facilitate
the creation and sharing of information, ideas, interests, and other forms of
expression through virtual communities and networks. While challenges to
the definition of social media arise due to the variety of stand-alone and
built-in social media services currently available, there are some common
features:

1. Social media are interactive Web 2.0 Internet-based applications.

User-generated content—such as text posts or comments, digital
photos or videos, and data generated through
all online interactions—is the lifeblood of social media.
2. Users create service-specific profiles for the website or app that are
designed and maintained by the social media organization.
2.1. Facebook
Facebook is an online social media and social networking service owned
by American company Meta Platforms. Founded in 2004 by Mark
Zuckerberg with fellow Harvard College students and roommates Eduardo
Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes, its name
comes from the face book directories often given to American university
students. Membership was initially limited to Harvard students, gradually
expanding to other North American universities and, since 2006, anyone
over 13 years old. As of July 2022, Facebook claimed 2.93 billion monthly
active users, and ranked third worldwide among the most visited websites
as of July 2022. It was the most downloaded mobile app of the 2010s.

Zuckerberg built a website called "Facemash" in 2003 while

attending Harvard University. The site was comparable to Hot or Not and
used "photos compiled from the online face books of nine Houses, placing
two next to each other at a time and asking users to choose the "hotter"
person"
2.2.Instagram
Instagram[a] is a photo and video sharing social networking service owned
by American company Meta Platforms. The app allows users to upload
media that can be edited with filters and organized
by hashtags and geographical tagging. Posts can be shared publicly or with
preapproved followers. Users can browse other users' content by tag and
location, view trending content, like photos, and follow other users to add
their content to a personal feed.

Instagram began development in San Francisco as Burbn, a mobile check-

in app created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. Realizing that it was too
similar to Foursquare, they refocused their app on photo-sharing, which
had become a popular feature among its users. They renamed it
Instagram, a portmanteau of "instant camera"

2.3. Snapchat
Snapchat is an American multimedia instant messaging app and service
developed by Snap Inc., originally Snapchat Inc. One of the principal
features of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are usually only
available for a short time before they become inaccessible to their
recipients. The app has evolved from originally focusing on person-to-
person photo sharing to presently featuring users' "Stories" of 24 hours
of chronological content, along with "Discover", letting brands show ad-
supported short-form content. It also allows users to store photos in
a password-protected area called "my eyes only". It has also reportedly
incorporated limited use of end-to-end encryption, with plans to broaden its
use in the future.
