• Turkey is a transcontinental country located in Southeastern


Europe and Southwestern Asia bordering the Black Sea.
Neighboring countries include Armenia, Azerbaijan,
Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Iraq, and Syria.
• Ankara is Turkey's capital, while Istanbul is its largest city
and financial centre.
• The overall population of Turkey is 85.94 M.

• Turkish history extends back thousands of years


before the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923.
• Turks, originally are people from Central Asia,
established several empires, including the Seljuk
Empire and later the Ottoman Empire, which was
founded in Anatolia by Turkish ruler Osman in 1299.
