CLUSTER A PERSONALITY
DISORDERS
 described as withdrawn, cold, suspicious, or irrational

Paranoid Personality Disorder

 Person with PPD is suspicious of others; this individual thinks that others are out to threaten,
betray, exploit, or harm.
Schizoid Personality Disorder
 a pattern of indifference to social relationships, with a limited range of emotional expression
and experience
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
 avoiding socializing and derive little pleasure from interacting with others
 suspiciousness or paranoia
CLUSTER B PERSONALITY
DISORDERS
theatrical, emotional, and attention-seeking. Their moods are labile and often shallow. They
often have intense interpersonal conflicts.
Antisocial Personality Disorder
 characterised by impulsive, irresponsible and often criminal behavior
 Someone with antisocial personality disorder will typically be manipulative, deceitful and
reckless, and will not care for other people's feelings.
Borderline personality disorder
 characterized by instability and impulsivity
 Instability manifests in relationships, emotion, and self-concept.
CLUSTER B PERSONALITY

Histrionic personality disorder
 characterized by constant attention-seeking, emotional overreaction, and seductive behavior

Narcissistic personality disorder

 grandiosity, a lack of empathy for other people, and a need for admiration
 Ppl with NPD described as arrogant, self-centered, manipulative, and demanding.
CLUSTER C PERSONALITY
DISORDERS
anxious and tense, often overcontrolled
Avoidant personality disorder
 extreme shyness and fear of rejection

Dependent personality disorder

 suffers from neediness that is marked by an over-reliance on others
 a pervasive and excessive need to be cared for that leads to submissive and clinging behavior
as well as fears of separation
Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder
 a pattern of preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and control
