Food Chain and Food Web

Presentation By: Miguel Tan

Is the Human the
Highest form of animal?
Are humans part of the
food chain?
Food Chain
Is the best and most effective way of
interpreting the sequence of events in an
ecosystem, this happens when one living
organism eats another organism, which is
then eaten by a larger organism. A food
chain is created by the transfer of
nutrients and energy from one creature
to another at different trophic levels.
Food Web
A Food Web is a diagram that depicts the various interconnected
food pathways in an ecosystem. It provides a more realistic picture
of how energy and nutrients move across an ecosystem. A food
web is basically an interrelated food chains that have numerous
paths for the transfer of nutrients and energy. Example is, A
primary consumer, like a rabbit, might be consumed by a
secondary consumer, like a Binturong, but it might also be
consumed by an eagle, which might then be consumed by a larger
predator, like a human. With food webs, you can illustrate how
diverse species are and how complicated an ecosystem are
interconnected.

Difference
In summary, a food chain is a simple single pathway of
energy flow, while a food web is a complex and more realistic
interconnection network of multiple food chains.
Why is it important to learn
