ALLELUIA • Purihin ang Diyos! • It should not sing this part during Lent. • In singing Alleluia, the pattern is: Alleluia – Gospel Acclamation – Alleluia CREDO (Sumasampalataya Ako...) • It is about professing faith. • It should be recited or sang with dignity, that we believe in the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit OFFERTORIUM • Misconception: There’s no such thing as Offertory Song, but it is a Song for the Preparation of Gifts. • It is the consecration and elevation of the Host and the Chalice. COMMUNION • You can sing this with voicing, humming, descant, as a choir or with solo lines, etc. • It should be prayerful, inspiring, and solemn; so that they (the faithful) will receive Jesus, the Eucharist, with dignity. RECESSIONAL • It is a song of sending forth. • Sing a sacred or liturgical song. • It does not hinder the ACTIVE PARTICIPATION of the FAITHFUL. ACTIVE PARTICIPATION • According to instruction 15 of the Musicam Sacram, the faithful fulfill their liturgical role by making that full, conscious, and active participation which is demanded by the nature of the liturgy itself and which is, by reason of baptism, the right and duty of the Christian people. This participation should be internal and external. • The faithful should also be taught to unite themselves interiorly to what the ministers or choir sing, so that by listening to them they may raise their minds to God.
