Beginning
• Michael Joseph Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana on
August 29, 1958. He was an American singer,
songwriter, producer, and dancer. Nicknamed the
King of Pop, his contributions and recognition in the
history of music and dance for more than four
decades, as well as his highly publicized personal life,
have made him an international figure in popular
culture.
• He began his artistic career in the mid-1960s in the
musical group The Jackson 5, in which he published,
together with some of his brothers, ten albums until
1975. In 1971, he began his solo career, although he
continued to belong to the group.
• His music spans a broad
spectrum of genres such as pop,
rhythm and blues (soul and
funk), rock, disco, and dance,
and he is recognized as the
"most successful musical artist
of all time" by Guinness World
Records.
• He´s considered one of the most
influential artists in history, within the
musical field, performers of various
genres, such as his sister Janet, Beyoncé,
Usher, Madonna, 50 Cent, Green Day,
Prince, Britney Spears, Justin,
Timberlake, Ricky Martin, Bruno Mars,
among many others, they have
recognized the importance of Jackson in
contemporary pop music and have been
influenced in some way by him.
• On the morning of June 25,
2009, Michael Jackson suffered a
cardiac arrest at his rented
Holmby Hills mansion in Los
Angeles, he was pronounced
dead at 2:26 p.m. m.
