An Indonesian Umrah pilgrim bus had an accident in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. A total of two Indonesian citizens (WNI)
died. The Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and BHI at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic
of Indonesia, Judha Nugraha, said the single accident was on Tuesday (10/25/2022) local time. "The Umrah pilgrims
bus accident in the Mecca area. It happened on October 25, at 11.30 pm," said Judha in a press briefing of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta, Thursday (27/10/2022).

Judha said that the two Indonesian citizens who died were the bus driver and the muthawif. The Indonesian
Consulate General in Jeddah has also sent a protection team to the Mecca area.

"When receiving this information, the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah immediately sent a team of
Indonesian citizens to the Mecca area to communicate with the local authorities. Information was obtained that this
accident was a single accident that did not involve any other party. Now this accident killed two Indonesian citizens,
namely the driver and the muthawif," he said.

Furthermore, it was recorded that 6 pilgrims were injured. Some are being treated at the King Abdul Aziz Hospital in
Mecca. There are also those who have been able to perform Umrah again.

"Meanwhile, 6 Umrah pilgrims were injured. Currently, the injured are being treated at the King Abdul Aziz Hospital
in Mecca and 5 of them have been able to continue their Umrah journey. One is still being treated," he said.

For this incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed condolences for the deaths of two Indonesian
citizens in Jeddah. He said the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah had provided assistance.

"We are sorry for this accident and the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah has provided assistance to pilgrims
and Indonesian citizens," he said.
