v.

6 …‘Rejoice with
me, for I have
found my sheep
that was lost’
Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him
to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained,
saying, “This Man [a]receives sinners and eats with
them.” 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one
of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and
go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he
has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when
he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors,
saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my
sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be
more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over
ninety-nine [b]just persons who need no repentance. Luke
Jesus the Good Shepherd (John 10:7-11 nkjv)
7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I
say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever
came [a]before Me are thieves and robbers, but the
sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone
enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out
and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except
to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that
they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good
shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

their way to search diligently for their lost
possessions, so God takes the initiative to
go to great lengths to seek and to save the
lost sinners.
I am (Jesus Christ)the door of the sheep.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great
love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were
dead in trespasses, made us alive together with
Christ, 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit
together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that
in the ages to come He might show the exceeding
riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ
Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-7niv

3. Just as the existence of the ninety-nine sheep &
nine coins afford no excuse for not searching for what
is lost, those who profess to be God’s people
(Christians/ believers) can never be satisfied that their
numbers are sufficiently great so as to stop trying to
save more.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not
