The Wise Extravagant King Solomon

 Solomon was a wise king of Israel who

built first the Temple in Jerusalem.
 He was also known for the stories told
in the Bible about his wisdom.
 He was prepared by his father David to
be the next king .
 Solomon was also the second and last
king of a unified Israel, which was at
SOLOMON the height of its power during his reign.
David (the father of solomon) let

symbolize that solomon had taken
over his royal authority and
privilege.

mandate of the Lord, your God, following

commands, ordinances, and decrees as
they are written in the law of Moses”

solomon that only by ruling
according to these
instructions would he succed
in whatever he would do

cities in Galilee to foreign
kings to acquire more gold.
While he grew richer, the
Israelites, particularly the
northern tribes, became
poorer. He forced his people
to build monuments.
God saw the acts of
Solomon that went against
the covenant.
Solomon had forgotten
about loving God and loving
his neighbor.
He neglected his people
while pursuing wealth and
greatness for himself.
 CONSEQUENCES OF SOLOMON’S SINS
Solomon had almost
everything at his disposal.
He had
wisdom,talent,wealth,and
power.
He slowly became
materialistic and militaristic.
God rendered judgement on
Solomons by saying, “I will
deprived you of the kingdom
and give it to your servant. I
will not do this during your
lifetime… I will leave your
son one tribe for the sake of
my servant David and of
Jerusalem,which I have
chosen”.
God raied many adversaries
against Solomon. One of
them was Jeroboam who
rebelled against Solomon.
