 WHAT IS POLLUTION?
Pollution is something introduced into the environment that is dirty, unclean or has a harmful effect. It is the introduction of
contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can be done through the introduction of a
contaminant into a natural environment, but the contaminant doesn't need to be tangible. For example, things as simple as
light, sound and temperature can be considered pollutants when introduced artificially into an environment.
 Types of pollution and effects
AIR POLLUTION
 Air pollution means the undesirable presence
of impurities or the abnormal rise in the
proportion of some constituents The particles
and gases from car and truck exhaust,
factories, dust, volcanoes and wildfires are
some examples.
WATER POLLUTION
Water pollution means one or more
substances have built up in water to such an
extent that they cause problems for animals
or people. For example, urban runoff can
carry organic, inorganic pollutants, oil, and
grease.
LAND POLLUTION
Land pollution is the deterioration
(destruction) of the earth's land surfaces,
often directly or indirectly as a result of man's
activities and their misuse of land resources.
For example, The overuse of pesticides and
other farming chemicals.
