ANDREW MAYNARD
ARCHITECTS
Located Melbourne, Australia, 2002

Andrew Maynard Architects focuses on sustainable, primarily residential design, but it’s
also interested in myriad concepts that help green our planet—like a zero waste table, a
suburb-eating robot, and a high-tech house with a low-brow name (Poop House) that builds
itself using household waste. For his built projects, Maynard looks to inform clients that
living in bold but efficient spaces with indoor-outdoor integration considerably improves
the occupants’ quality of life.

“In residential architecture we need to convince our clients that small is better,” Maynard
says. “Large houses are unhealthy, unsustainable, they separate families, and most
important they dislocate us from outdoor space.”

Low Design Office is an architecture studio and an integrated design practice. Bridging
design and construction, they bring high-impact buildings and landscapes to life. They also
have a particular focus on low carbon footprints and environmental impact with the goal of
bringing life into balance for people and place. Their core idea is simple – more with less,
but their work brings together diverse ideas on design, construction and architecture.

Atelier Alter is a pioneering inter-disciplinary practice based in New York and

Beijing. Noted for deriving design from critical analysis of the site, Atelier Alter
has been recognized by numerous awards, including IDOL Gold Prize 2014,
2013 Awards by Lighting Design Weekly, 2010 Excellence in Architecture Design of
FuJian, etc.
This was followed by the Senior Culture Center in 2010. Besides culture projects, the
portfolio of Atelier Alter Architects ranges from small scale furniture design to educational
facilities and large urban scale projects.

MADE is an innovative design/build practice distinguished by our belief in integrating the

architect and builder at every stage of the creative process. By combining a design studio, a
fabrication workshop and a contracting team under one roof, we offer a range of services
unmatched by a conventional architectural practice. The work of MADE is primarily
focused on private residential homes and custom retail boutiques within New York City and
the surrounding area.
