EXTENDED LITERATURE SURVEY
[1].Automated real-time intelligent traffic control system for smart
cities using wireless sensor networks. Adil Hilmani,

 A new intelligent traffic control system (S2) is presented, which is

based on the deployment of wireless sensor networks on roads, on
traffic lights, and on specific places (such as hospitals and petrol
pumps) in order to monitor road traffic in the city and find the shortest
route to the destination in terms of time and distance, avoiding traffic
jams.
 This system is based on the deployment of the cluster network
topology so that the different types of sensors installed in each
crossing can send their data to the global information and
management center of the system from the corresponding gateway in
order to increase the lifetime of the system and also increase excellent
efficiency and feasibility of the system.
PROBLEMS IN EXISTING SYSTEMS

[2].Intelligent traffic signal control system for ambulance using RFID

and cloud.Sarada,G.vijay,T.Shuba[2021].
 They proposed a system using cloud network to connect both
ambulance and traffic controlling unit. Intelligent traffic signal control
is achieved using RFID technology. The idea is whenever the
ambulance is detected near the signal, RFID reader tracks the
ambulance attached with RFID tag and sends the data to the cloud.
 After sending the data through mobile app, acknowledgment will be
sent to user, then system will automatically change the signal to green
in the path of ambulance. In this, it provides uninterrupted services to
emergency vehicle. Accuracy of RFID is more compared to other
alternative technologies like camera.
PROBLEMS IN EXISTING SYSTEMS

[3]. Scalable tracking system for public buses using IoT

technologies.Jay Lohokare; Reshul Dani; Sumedh Sontakke;
Rahul Adhao[2021].
 They proposed an idea of capturing live location of the emergency
services. Using these locations, people who are in need of emergency
services can connect to the officials. The main contribution of this
paper is that, it provides a solution that can be extended to an entire
city where there can be huge number of users using this system.
 Prerequisites for this application according to the author is the need of
Internet and GPS (Global Positioning System) enabled device such a
smart phone through which real-time location can be sent to the server.
This paper gives a brief back-end Architecture that will help to handle
huge number of users.
PROBLEMS IN EXISTING SYSTEMS

[4]. A Comprehensive Composite of Smart Ambulance Booking and

Tracking Systems Using IoT for Digital Services.SumantChatterjee,
Omkar Udawant.[2022].
 proposed a smart ambulance system. The basic idea is whenever the
ambulance is within the range of 100m, the signal changes to green for
some time. They makes use of cloud and GPRS technology. Ambulance
contains sensors like heart rate sensor, blood pressure, ECG.

 These sensors data will be sent to hospital’s database simultaneously.

Treatment will be planned by the hospital authorities according to
patient condition. So it saves so much time.
PROBLEMS IN EXISTING SYSTEMS

[5]. Intelligent Traffic Light Flow Control SystemUsing Wireless

Sensors Networks. Khalil M. Yousef, Jamal N[2020].
 They present an adaptive traffic control system based on a new traffic
infrastructure using Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and using new
techniques for controlling the traffic flow sequences. These techniques
are dynamically adaptive to traffic conditions on both single and
multiple intersections. A WSN is used as a tool to instrument and control
traffic signals roadways.
 Simulation results shows the efficiency of the proposed scheme in
solving traffic congestion interms of the average waiting time and
average queue length on the isolated (single) intersection and efficient
global traffic flow control on multiple intersections. A test bedwas also
developed and deployed for real measurements. The paper concludes
with somefuture highlights and useful remarks.
OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the project is to control the traffic in the peak
hours and dominate the traffic jams and accidents by clearing the traffic
without using man power.
BLOCK DIAGRAM OF THE PROPOSED WORK
(MODIFIED)
HARDWARE COMPONENTS REQUIRED & IT’S
SPECIFICATIONS

Arduino Uno

• The Uno with Cable is a micro-controller board base

on the ATmega328. It has 14 digital input/output pins
(of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs); 6 analog
inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB
connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a
reset button.
• It contains everything need to support the
microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with
a USB cable or power it with an AC-to-DC adapter
or battery to get started.
HARDWARE COMPONENTS REQUIRED & IT’S
SPECIFICATIONS
NODE MCU
• Node MCU is an open-source firmware and development kit that plays a
vital role in designing your own IoT product using a few Lua script
lines.

• Multiple GPIO pins on the board allow you to connect the board with
other peripherals and are capable of generating PWM, I2C, SPI, and
UART serial.
HARDWARE COMPONENTS REQUIRED & IT’S
SPECIFICATIONS

RFID MODULE
• RFID module The RFID reader has a radio transmitter and recipient
inside. It is likewise called as an investigative specialist. The reader
transmits radio recurrence flags persistently after controlling. At the
point when a RFID tag is set inside the range region of a reader, it
invigorates the tag through electromagnetic enlistment and gathers the
data from it.
HARDWARE COMPONENTS REQUIRED & IT’S
SPECIFICATIONS

BUZZER

• A buzzer or beeper is an audio signalling device, which may

be mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric (piezo for short).
Typical uses of buzzers and beepers include alarm devices, timers, and
confirmation of user input such as a mouse click or keystroke.
HARDWARE COMPONENTS REQUIRED & IT’S
SPECIFICATIONS

Light-emitting diode (LED)

• The lighting emitting diode is a p-n junction diode. It is a specially
doped diode and made up of a special type of semiconductors. When the
light emits in the forward biased, then it is called as a light emitting
diode.
SOFTWARE REQUIRED & PROGRESS IN
CODING

 The Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) is used

to write the computer code and upload this code to the physical
board. The Arduino IDE is very simple and this simplicity is
probably one of the main reason Arduino became so popular. We
can certainly state that being compatible with the Arduino IDE is
now one of the main requirements for a new microcontroller board.
