CLIMATE CHANGE

¿WHAT IS CLIMATE CHANGE?

 Climate change refers to long-term changes in

temperatures and weather patterns. These
changes can be natural, for example, through
variations in the solar cycle. But since the 19th
century, human activities have been the main
driver of climate change, mainly due to the
burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas.
CAUSES OF CLIMATE
CHANGE
 It´s causes are:
 Power generation. The generation of electricity
and heat through fossil fuels causes a large
amount of global emissions.
 Manufacturing products.
 The felling of forests.
 The use of transportation
 energy in buildings.
 In 2022 there was an increase in greenhouse gas
emissions and an energy crisis caused by the war
in Ukraine, which led many countries to abandon
their commitments to reduce carbon dioxide
emissions.
CONCEQUENSE OF CLIMATE
CHANGE
 Changes to Earth’s climate driven by increased human
emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gases are already
having widespread effects on the environment: glaciers
and ice sheets are shrinking, river and lake ice is
breaking up earlier, plant and animal geographic ranges
are shifting, and plants and trees are blooming sooner.
 Effects that scientists had long predicted would result
from global climate change are now occurring, such as
sea ice loss, accelerated sea level rise, and longer, more
intense heat waves.
