• Fitness – It is a set of attributes that people have or achieve.
• Physically fit – The ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness, without
undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy leisure-time pursuits and to meet
unforeseen emergencies.
• Health – It is defined as the measure of our body’s efficiency and over-all well-being.
• Exercise – It is the training of the body to improve its function and enhance its fitness.
• Physical activity – Physical conditioning refers to the development of physical fitness
different exercise programs and are completely recreational.
• Warm-up – This is a lower-intensity or lower-speed activity used to prepare for an
athletic event or exercise session.
• Stretching – This is extending your body to achieve a healthy range of flexibility.
• Cool down – The purpose of a cool-down is to slow your level of physical activity
gradually, from high intensity to low intensity.

CHECK YOUR BMI
BMI or Body Mass Index is the measure
of your relative weight based on an
individual’s mass and height.
EXAMPLE:
Kurt weighs 57kg and is1.75m tall.
Weight: 57kg
Height: 1.75
BMI = 59/1.75² = 59/3.06
BMI = 19.28 = NORMAL

TYPES OF EXERCISE
Light exercise:
• The person is still able to work or do something else while exercising.
• A simple walk or jog in place are examples of light exercise.

Moderate exercise:
• The person can feel slightly out of breath during the session
• Running, biking, or jumping jacks are examples of moderate exercise.

Vigorous exercise:
• The person is panting heavily during the session.
• Triathlon, swimming, and boxing are examples of vigorous exercise.

Aerobic exercise:
• Strengthens the muscles, improves circulation, and reduces the risk of heart disease
• Aerobic means “with air”

Anaerobic exercise:
• This exercise is at high-intensity but for a short duration only (2 minutes) and builds
power, strength, and muscle.
• Anaerobic means “without air”

Agility exercise
• Improves one’s ability to slow down, speed up, and change directions while maintaining
balance and control.
