the tourism of Gujarat
Justification:
• 182 metres tall statue of unity dedicated to Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat’s Narmada district is becoming
one of the country’s top tourists spot attracting about 15000
tourists every day.
• The Gujarat government claims its investment which is
about ₹2989 crore will promote tourism and tHat tourism is
sustainable development.

SIGNIFICANCE OF STATUE OF UNITY IN UPLIFTING TOURISM IN
GUJRAT
 Hypothesis
 Few people believes that this money could have been used to
provide food, clothes, shelter to the needy ones.
 This political conflict is creating huge problem as people are
ignoring the positive side which is hampering the statue as a tourist
spot.
 In Gujarat there is no such tourist destination which will attract
tourists throughout the year so The Statue of Unity will act as a
magnet which will attract tourists all year round.
Methodology
 Quantitative data collection needs to be done .
 In my research project the local people or the government
officials may be one of the stake holders whose views on
this topic can be taken with the help of questionnaire.
 Also a survey among the tourists can be done to get their
feedback.

 Statue of unity has surpassed daily average footfall of USA’s statue of Liberty.
 Statue of unity has been named as the 8th wonder of the world.
 Overall development in the Narmada district.

 The data gathered from the experiment may able to prove The statue of unity will help in
increasing tourism income and a large area with hotels, transport and other services will
develop fast.
 Thousand of people in Narmada district and areas nearby will get employment
opportunities directly and indirectly.
 It is estimated that more than 10lakh tourists will visit this statue every year and this will
help in generating huge amount of income from tourism, transport and other related
services.
 Entire money spent on construction is estimated to be recovered in 35-40 years.
Conclusion
 Conclusion is yet to be drawn .
 But according to the council it can be partially concluded that the number of tourists
visiting the statue would touch 3 million in 2020 taking into consideration the footfall
during last few months to reach a goal of 5 million tourists .
