Title of the study:

The title of the study is “The Impact Of Refugee’s On Cox’s Bazar Tourism Sector ”. The title
goes with the research because the research will show the circumstance created currently. After
analyzing those data, some result will be gained showing the impact of refugee’s on cox's bazar
tourism sector.

Background of the Study:

Cox's Bazar is a city, a fishing port and a tourist destination in southeastern Bangladesh .Cox's

Bazar is famous for its natural beauty. It has the longest uninterrupted natural sandy beach in the
world at 122 km. Extended up. It has the largest marine fishing port and submarine cable landing
station in Bangladesh. Cox's Bazar was once known as Panoya which literally means yellow
flower . Another ancient name is palanquin .

Currently world’s largest refugee camp is situated in Cox’s Bazar. Kutupalong refugee
camp (Begali: কুতুপালং শরণার্থী শিবির) is the world's largest refugee camp. It is in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar,
Bangladesh, inhabited mostly by Rohingya refugees that fled from ethnic and religious
persecution in neighboring Myanmar. It is one of two government-run refugee camps in Cox's
Bazaar, the other being the Nayapara refugee camp. Since 2018, Kutupalong refugee camp has
been the world's largest refugee camp. With flimsy shelters, built on steep hillsides, the camps
are prone to flooding and landslides, particularly during monsoons. In August, 2018, Human
Rights Watch urged Bangladesh to relocate the camps to sturdier structures, on safer ground in
Cox's Bazar. On June 30, 2020, the Kutupalong refugee camp and expansion site had a combined
population of 598,545 and 187,423 families, with an area of just 13 square kilometres. while
entire refugee camp have been 860,356.

Local Bangladeshis have complained of Rohingya from the camps undermining natives' job
prospects and becoming involved in criminal activity (particularly illicit drug trade in yabba, a
type of methamphetamine). Also, authorities have struggled to cope with human traffickers
smuggling Rohingya into and out of Bangladesh (particularly by sea),[33] and exploiting women
and children for the region's sex trade.[34] In response, the authorities have restricted Rohingya
refugees' movements into and out of the camps, and limited their right to work or travel outside
the camps -- resulting in rising hardship and frustration for the refugees.

Rationale of the study:

The report titled “Sustainable Tourism Development Conveys the Conspicuous Prospects in
Bangladesh” is prepared for learning the core issues related to the concerned area as well as an
integral part of the postgraduate program. While talking about the sustainable tourism, the first
thing that hits up the mind is preserving social, economic and natural environment. There always
exists massive gap between theoretical and practical knowledge. This report is made to bridge
that gap. It will help to understand mentioned environmental issues of Bangladesh and how they
can be linked with tourism industry for a sustainable future.

➢ To highlight the potentials of sustainable tourism development in Bangladesh.
➢ To identify the constraints to the development of sustainable tourism in Bangladesh.

• Relevant books, journal, periodicals and newspaper articles.
• Branding related articles and journal
• Websites
• Personal experience
Research Method:
The research will be based on descriptive research. It can also be termed as survey. This is
chosen to conduct a descriptive research studies. According to this research, surveys and fact
finding enquiries are required. As the research is related to business research, this type of
research is very much fruitful.

Methods for data collection:

As the research is descriptive studies, the methods for data collection will be survey methods.

The methods along with the logic behind using them are given below:

Participant observation: This method will be used to observe the behavior of the
participants in the research and will be fruitful to understand that what things shape a
consumer’s behavior;

steps that have been taken and what can be undertook. Some open and closed questions
will be asked to collect information from them.

Sample selection:

The method of judgment sampling will be used here. This method is also termed as
nonprobability sampling. The units or items from the population will be chosen purposively here
and then from them a decision will be taken.

Data Analysis:

Content analysis will be used to analyze the data of this research. This analysis helps to simply
the information and it produces results both for the quantitative and qualitative data. It helps the
researchers to structure the data in such a way that satisfies the research objectives.

Conclusion

I hope I will be able to identify the conspicuous prospects of sustainable tourism development in
Bangladesh and get the recommendations from the sector to facilitate the future research of this
particular issue. So I will focus on the major tourist spots in Bangladesh and get the information
required. After analyzing the data I can recommend some issues to develop this sector.
