CHANGES IN
TURKEY
 Mustafa Kemal modernized Turkey by adopting the
laws and systems of West.
 He separated religion from the government and
brought in European laws to run the country.
 He also industrialized Turkey by setting up
factories and a railway system.
 In 1934, Mustafa Kemal pasha was given the
surname of Ataturk by Turkish parliament, which
means Father of Turks.
 He made Turkey independent of foreign
powers and also free from dependence on their
economies.
