ABSTRACT
• The metal matrix Copper (Cu) and reinforcement (Al 2 O3) is
blending-mixed with certain ratio and the mixed composite is
compacted.
• The metal powder that compacted to desire shape and size after
pressed is called green compact. After compacting the metal, it is
weakly bonded.
• This green compacted material is sintered. After sintering
operation the metal bonding of green compact is improved. The
weakly bonded materials get strengthened.
• The composite material characterizations are analysed by using
SEM,OM and EDS analysis and the mechanical properties are
evaluated by Mircro hardness test and Ring compression test at
various volume fraction of the above composite material.
OBJECTIVES
TO IMPROVE THE STRENGTH OF THE MATERIAL
• A.B. Ireza, et. al. Design and Mechanical-Physical Properties of Epoxy-Rubber Based
Composites Reinforced with Nanoparticles Procedia Engineering. This paper is focused on the
design of ERCs reinforced with nano powders in a matrix of epoxy - fresh scrap rubber. The mechanical
and some physical properties of these composite systems were studied in this studies.
• Anthony Xavior Ma, et. al. Machinability of Hybrid Metal Matrix Composite - A Review13th
Global Congress on Manufacturing and Management . This paper is focuses on the influence of
reinforcement particle’s types, shape, size and volume fractions on the machinability issues like the
cutting force, tool wear, chip formation and surface roughnes.

This paper describes results from EU FP7 project IC2 Intelligent and Customized Tooling and beyond
using surface embedded in surface coatings in thermoplastics injection moulding dies.
• Pradeep Gupta, et. al. Strain Rate and Temperature Effects on the Strength and Dissipative
Mechanisms in Al-Cu50Zr50 Interface Model: Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study. Molecular
dynamics simulations are performed to characterize the metal Al-metallic glass Cu50Zr50 interface
strength and dissipative mechanisms at different strain rates and temperatures .
• Adarsha.Ha, et. al. Effect of Carbon Fiber Rod Reinforcement on Slurry Erosive behavior of
Al6061 Composites. The developed composites wear resistance properties when compared to the
matrix alloy. The worn surfaces and the slurry particles were observed using a scanning electron
microscope to validate the wear mechanism.
