If something has coherence, its parts are well-connected and work together to help the
reader make sense of the information.

Style
the way a writer writes. It is commonly described as the author’s “voice” and includes
their syntax, preferred word choice, and tone.

Four main types of style are:

Expository Narrative Persuasive Descriptive

Tone
is the author’s attitude about a topic.

Plagiarism
presenting someone else’s ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating
them into your own work.

APA Citation
is a quotation or an explicit reference to a source of information. An APA citation is the style developed
by the American Psychological Association and is the generally accepted style of citing sources.

citation as either an example or a non-example of APA style.

Remember that APA was developed by the American Psychological


Association, and is currently in its seventh edition.

Let’s define two new vocabulary words you have likely heard and seen
before.

An example is something that follows a given rule or has a given characteristic.

Examples of birds are an eagle, a flamingo, and a parakeet
