ion balance in the body.
• Kidneys help to maintain osmoregulation of the body.
• Kidneys regulate blood pressure and absorption of ions and essential
molecules from the blood by filtration and purification
• It is the process of maintaining homeostasis of the body. It
facilitates the diffusion of solutes and water across the semi-
permeable membrane thereby maintaining osmotic balance.
