What do we think of when we hear about Great Britain? From
school, I was taught that London is a capital of Great Britain. In
my imagination, I saw discreet ladies and gentlemen leisurely
strolling the streets of London and relaxing in the summer in
Brighton, spending time over a cup of tea and a game of bridge,
playing polo and cricket. But modern Britain can surprise anyone
with its new contrasting trends and currents, I was no exception.
Great Britain includes four countries: England, Scotland,
Wales and Northern Ireland. It is definitely worth visiting all
of them. Wales is not so popular among tourists, and I advise
you to visit the other three parts first:

England is the most famous of them, of course! The magic of

medieval castles and cathedrals, respect for the Royal Family,
tea and such famous English politeness... In my opinion, this
is the place to start a trip
Scotland is a northern country with
unparalleled charm. Beautiful cold nature,
lakes, mountains, ancient architecture and
whiskey. Dress warmly when you go there, but
I promise you won't regret it!
Northern Ireland is a country of fun parties, the
birthplace of Titanic and, again, beautiful
nature. Although guidebooks do not always
write about this part of Ireland, it is very
interesting to visit it.
Wales is the most peaceful and non-touristy
part of Great Britain. If you are already tired of
the noise of London, the romance of
Edinburgh, the beaches of Brighton and the
parties of Newcastle, go there for this peace
and quiet.
