• The freezing point of butter is 82 °F while the boiling point is 90-95 °F.
However, in our data gathered yesterday, we did not meet the exact
freezing and boiling point of the butter.
• To compare the freezing and melting point, the freezing point of butter,
freezing occurs at the same temperature as melting, hence, the
melting point and freezing point of a substance are the same
temperature. The melting/freezing point of a substance is defined as
the temperature above which, the substance is liquid and below which,
it is solid.
• Heating and cooling curves provide a visual
representation of the changes in temperature
and state of a substance as it undergoes
phase changes. By analyzing these curves,
we can gain a deeper understanding of the
physical properties of materials and how they
behave under different conditions.

In a heating or cooling curve, the kinetic and


potential energy of a substance changes as it
undergoes a phase transition or a change in
temperature.
