The structural features of a poem-
• written in verse.( a pair of lines
ending with rhyming words)
• each line starts with a capital letter,
• a comma usually at the end of each
line.
The language features of a poem-
• Alliteration, (dinner dish , dig down deep,
flops flat)
• Simile (digs deep down like a miner)
• Onomatopoeia,(wheezes or snoring)
• Rhyme words ( words with same sound)
• Rhyming pattern. (aa,bb)
• Powerful verbs (romp and chomp).

• ‘Roger the Dog’ is the Couplet Poetry.
