3. What is the significance of studying this
history?
 The MSU System was created on Sept. 1, 1961 through
RA 1387.
 It was the government response to “Mindanao Problem”.
 To help accelerate the program of “integration” among
the peoples of Southern Philippines (Lumads and Moros.
 The MSU System would play its role as “Social
Laboratory” – to advance the cause of national unity and
pursue “Integration” through education.

3. What is the significance of studying History
003?
 First, studying the struggles of the Moros and Lumads
would correct the lop-sided “popular or manila centric
history” that alienated them.
 Second, studying Moros and Lumads history would
broaden Filipino understanding of the country’s present
situation.
 Third, the Filipinos hope to develop essential values
needed in genuine reconciliation, such as respect and
acceptance.
