Introduction on CHANDRAYAN-1

⋆ The Chandrayaan-1 gave a major fillip to the Indian space program.

⋆ It was launched aboard PSLV-C11 launch vehicle that successfully placed the spacecraft
inside the lunar orbit on November 8, 2008.

⋆ India became the fourth country in the world to hoist its national flag on lunar surface.

⋆ is the second lunar exploration mission developed by the Indian Space Research
Organisation (ISRO)

⋆ On 12 November 2007, representatives of the Roscosmos and ISRO signed an


agreement for the two agencies.

⋆ The spacecraft was launched on its mission to the Moon from the 
second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh on 22
July 2019
