1. THE SERVE
• Underarm serve
• Overhand serve
• Sidearm serve
Underhand Serve
• Server faces net with L foot forward. Ball is
held about waist level in palm of Left hand
in front of Right leg.
 
Overhand serve
• The stance is the same as the underhand serve
but the skill is executed by player tossing the
ball aproximately above the head level and
hitting it with extended hitting arm.
 
Sidearm Serve
• The server turns on the left side, closer to the
net. Then the ball is held shoulder level in the
palm of left hand with hand stretched or half
stretched.
The Pass
• A served ball or any ball coming from the opponents
side is received or stopped by the other team with
any part of the body, but the most ussual and
effective way is with the hands.

Underhand Pass
• Used when ball is received below the shoulder.
 
Overhand Pass
• Used when the ball is received above the shoulder.
Dig Pass
• A method of fielding balls that are almost out of
reach. The motion of the arm is full arm under
hand stroke.
 
Set up
• A special kind of pass for the purpose of placing
the ball in the position for the attack player
(spiker) to hit it.
 
Spiking
• Is done by hitting the ball over or above the net.
With any strong forcing, smashing such that the
ball falls in the downward direction. The objctive is
to make the opponent commit faults or errors.
Blocking
• Is the effort the defensive team to stop a spike.
This is done by putting up the fingers and hands
above the net and in front of the ball so that the
spiked ball may be returned to the spikers court
with deminished or lesser force in order for the
other players to be able to handle it.
Tossing
• Is done to control the ball by a player of the
same team so that another player of the team
can spike the ball effectively.
