• This international campaign is in line with


WHO’s movement towards optimal public
health and safety.
• In this alliance treaty, the members of the
WHO planned a two-pronged approach
namely: Demand Reduction Provitions and
Supply Reduction Provisions.
It provide measures to discourage people to fall into
excessive consumption of tobacco products.

It call for the reduction of tobacco use and propagation by


reducing the availability of such products in the market.
• Increase the tax of tobacco products to heighten their prices in the market.
• Educate the people on the harmful effects of tobacco on one’s health, the
community, and the environment.
• Adopt tobacco control programs unique to the needs of their country
• Regulate the contents of all tobacco products
• Require manufacturers to indicate the harmful and toxic effects of tobacco
on their own package label
• Ban all types of promotion and advertising of tobacco products
• Create programs to help individual members of society minimize or stop
the use of tobacco products
• Put an end to illegal trade and smuggling of tobacco products
• Raise the penalties related to illegal trade of tobacco products
• Create laws that prohibit the sale of tobacco products by and to minors
• Provide healthier and more productive alternative activities to smoking

Aims:

• Strengthen effective leadership and governance for mental health;


• Provide comprehensive, integrated, and responsive mental health and
social care services in community-based settings;
• Implement strategies for promotion and prevention in mental health;
and
• Strengthen information systems, evidence, and research for mental
health.
Specific measures:

• Provide accessible social mental health care measures


• Equip mental health professionals with intensive training

• Allow individuals and families with mental health problems easier


access to social programs of the country
• Regularly conduct surveys to monitor the mental health condition of the
country
• Coordinate with different sectors of the country such as education,
housing, judicial, social welfare etc.
