INTRODUCTION
Energy storage is the capture of energy produced at one time for use
at a later time. Energy storing body panels are made of carbon resin
and polymer fibre that is strong enough to serve as an auto body, yet
sufficiently pliable to be moulded into panels. These panels are
designed to absorb energy from multiple means, including plugging-
in overnight and regenerative braking, which is then stored and
released as per the demand
How do these body panels work?
The panels capture energy from regenerative braking and also from
when the car is plugged in overnight (the energy will then be fed back to
the car when it’s needed). Toyota is currently testing solar body panels
where the car can charge while it’s parked as well as on the move.
A study also revealed that carbon fibres can work as battery electrodes
that store energy directly.
Electric cars can decrease their weight by 15% and if the doors, roof
and bonnet were replaced they expected range could be as much
as 130km. Not to mention Lithium-ion batteries are 40% more
expensive than nickel-cadmium batteries.
How do these body panels charge?
Door beams, roofs and even body panels created during auto
manufacturing are made of steel on most cars today. Steel is
also used in a variety of areas throughout the body to
accommodate the engine or other parts. Exhausts are often
made from stainless steel, for example.

SUPERCAPACITOR:
The high costs and limited driving range that have so far
hampered sales of electric vehicles (EV) Else where can be
ascribed primarily to the priciest and heaviest component in
the car, the battery.
3. Less weight.
• Linear discharging nature of voltage prevents
usage of the complete energy spectrum
4. Zero emissions.
• High self-discharge; higher than most
5.Superior acceleration.
batteries
6. Reduced electric car batteries. • Low cell voltage and needs series connection
7.Lightweight capacitor. as a compensation for higher voltage
8. Less fuel consumption.
