Reiki – A Definition
Page 2-4
What is Reiki – A Definition – page 3
• Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that
also promotes healing.
• It is a natural system of energy healing that is safe, non-
intrusive, gentle but powerful
• The process of giving a Reiki treatment is thought of as
"laying on of hands"
• Reiki is a holistic system for healing and can be used to help
restore balance and harmony to the whole person, including
the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of a
person
What is Reiki – A Definition – page 3
• Based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows
through everything in the universe and is what animates us and
causes us to be alive
• If a persons’ "life force energy" is low, blocked or stagnant, then
we are more likely to get sick or feel stress
• If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy
• Origin depends on who you speak to, how you are trained, what
books you read and what you google
• Healing methods similar to reiki are identified in all cultures
and recorded histories over 5,000 years old
• Whatever and wherever reiki originated from I do believe we are
dealing with an ancient form of healing
What is Reiki – A Definition – page 3
• All systems of energy healing, hands on and remote healing
use aspects of the universal life force energy that permeates
the universe and our entire reality.
• This Energy is known by many names, Prana, Mana, Chi, KI,
Orgone energy, Bioenergetic plasma, Divine breath, Cosmic
Pulse, Vital Fire, the Ti or Ki of the Hawaiians, odic force, bio-
plasma and life force among them.
• Even in modalities and systems that call directly on spiritual
entities, Angels, Healing guides and so forth, the actual
healing is effected by aspects of the universal energy.
What is Reiki – A Definition – page 3
• Reiki also has elements based on the traditions of Asian
medicine and martial arts which have given rise to
acupuncture, chi gong, tai chi and other Holistic Medicine
and modes similar practices so it is:
• A fusion of spiritual healing and some traditional Asian
medical, spiritual and health practices.
• What can be proved though is that its’ rediscovery and
further refinement and development happened in Japan
around the time of the life of Dr. Mikao Usui.
What is Reiki – A Definition – page 4
• The word Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is composed of two Japanese words -
Rei and Ki.
• When seeking a definition from a spiritual context, Rei can be defined as
the:
• Higher Intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the universe.
• Rei is a subtle wisdom that permeates everything, both animate and
inanimate and it guides the evolution of all creation ranging from the
unfolding of galaxies to the development of life.
• On a human level, it is available to help us in times of need and acts as a
source of guidance in our lives.
• Because of its infinite nature, it is all knowing and has been also called God
and has many other names depending on the culture that has named it.
What is Reiki – A Definition – page 4
• Ki is the non-physical energy that animates all living things, flowing
in everything that is alive including plants, animals and humans.
• When a person's Ki is high, they will feel strong, confident, and ready
to enjoy life and take on its’ challenges.
• When it is low, they will feel weak and are more likely to get sick.
• We receive Ki from the air we breathe, from food, sunshine, and
from sleep.
• It is also possible to increase our Ki by using breathing exercises and
meditation.
• When a person dies, their Ki leaves the physical body.
What is Reiki – A Definition – page 4
• With that above information in mind, Reiki can be defined as a:
• non-physical healing energy made up
of life force energy that is guided by
the Higher Intelligence,
• or:

Is the History of Reiki Important? – page 5
• Over the years - so many changes to Reiki:
• its apparent history, how it’s applied
• the lineage, the emergence of different styles
• techniques being added or taken away
• different peoples’ personal opinion
• people’s own importance placed on old and/or new emerging information….
• history may seem to have been a bit diluted

• After Usuis’ death in 1926 a memorial stone was erected in 1927 in
Tokyo in memory of him
• The inscription on the stone was written by a teacher trained by
Usui and who succeeded him as president of the Gakkai
• This inscription has formed the basis of much of the
understanding of who Miao Usui was and the history of Usui Reiki.
• The inscription also makes reference to a series of guidelines
formulated by the Meiji Emperor of Japan (1868 – 1912) that were
• adopted by Usui and to this day are seen as suitable guidelines by
most Reiki practitioners to how best to live in the now
The Reiki Principles - page 11
• These guidelines are now the known to most Reiki practitioners as the reiki
principles for:
• how best to live in the now,
• to not remain a prisoner of the past nor
• spoil the experience of now by living in the future
• to live your life with integrity that recognises the divinity in everything and in every person.
• These are:
• Don’t get angry today
• Don’t worry today
• Be Grateful today
• Work hard today
• Be Kind to others today
The Reiki Principles - page 11
• Meiji Emperors’ precepts (general rules intended to regulate
behaviour or thought) may mirror various other common sets of
ethical precepts or guidelines that everyone can live by to
promote a healthy, loving way of living.
• It may seem a bit overwhelming to change ourselves in order to
live by all five of these principles immediately and every single
day, however it is worth expanding on the Reiki Principles so you
can
• begin to align with their relevance in todays’ world
• see how and where they can be applied in your life
• Maybe even start today by focusing your awareness on just one.

First…. A bit about stress - page 12
• Stress is just the body's response to changes that create taxing
demands but there is a difference between eustress (positive
stress) and distress (negative stress)
• Eustress, or positive stress, or beneficial stress (whether
psychological, physical, or biochemical) is any kind of stress that is
experienced as positive or that promotes well-being.
• This can be characterised as that which motivates, focuses energy,
is short-term and perceived to be within our coping abilities.
• It feels exciting and improves performance. Examples:
• New Job, having a child, learning new classes, buying a home
• holiday, promotion, getting married, moving house, holiday seasons
First…. A bit about stress - page 12
• Distress, or negative stress, can be characterised as that
which
• causes anxiety or concern, can be short- or long-term and
perceived as outside of our coping abilities.
• It feels unpleasant, decreases performance and can lead to
mental and physical problems. Examples
• Separation from a partner, divorce or death, Losing contact with
loved ones, The death of a family member, Hospitalisation, illness
or injury (you or family), Being abused or neglected
• Excessive job demands, Job insecurity, Conflicts with teammates
and supervisors
First…. A bit about stress - page 12
• Stressors may not always be limited to situations outside of ourselves,
our own thoughts and feelings and habitual behaviours can also cause
distress such as
• fears and phobias,
• limited and repetitive thinking patterns,
• worrying about the future,
• unrealistic or perfectionist expectations and procrastination.
• How we experience stress is very subjective and personal to each person
• It is how we respond to stress that determines whether we profit from
misfortune or be miserable
• Awareness of this can enable us to begin the task of choosing our
response to this rather than just automatically reacting to it.

Just for today, I will not worry- page 13
• For most of us, stress is an inherent part of our daily lives and
• for some of us it’s a major issue whether we experience this acutely or
whether we are silently suffering from its’ chronic impact on our energy,
physiology, mental and emotional states and our quality of life.
• Often, we are juggling and managing a whole myriad of calendars,
appointments, meetings, shoulds, shouldn’ts, to do’s and problems to
solve.
• So, if we cannot do something about a problem today then there is no
point in worrying.
• If we can do something about a problem today do it and then we will
have no cause to worry.
Just for today, I will not worry- page 13
• Not to mention, the benefit to our health from lowering our stress.
• When we worry, we might forget that we are connected with the
unlimited energy of reiki, its essence and all its potential,
essentially to universal love.
• Use Reiki to reduce your worries and improve your thinking
patterns, the more we allow that energy to flow through us the
more we become open to experience ourselves as part of a safe
and loving universe.
• So just for today, do what you can and then trust yourself and
know that everything is going to work out.
Just for today, I will not be angry- page 13
• Each stressor, whether acute or chronic can trigger a cascade of stress
hormones that produce well- orchestrated and superfast physiological
changes within the body, making the heart pound, breath quicken,
muscles tense, etc, also known as the "fight-or-flight" (and also freeze)
response because it evolved as a survival mechanism, enabling people
and other mammals to react quickly to life- threatening situations.
• These days we are not faced with being chased up the main street in
Lusk by the sabre-toothed tiger or the hangry bear but our limbic
system, amygdala and hypothalamus hasn’t caught up with this fact
and unfortunately the body can now also overreact to stressors that
are not life-threatening, such as traffic jams on the M50, work
pressure, and family difficulties.
Just for today, I will not be angry- page 13
• Once our bodies and consciousness perceive the stressor or
stressors through our senses or even in our minds, our
amygdala sends a distress signal to the hypothalamus which
activates the sympathetic nervous system by sending signals
through the autonomic nerves to the adrenal glands, which
respond by pumping the hormone epinephrine (also known as
adrenaline) into the bloodstream.
• Now just think about this for a minute, how many times even in
a given day do we personally experience stressors like the ones
mentioned, even if we just are thinking about them
Just for today, I will not be angry- page 13
• Now think about the fact that each time we even think about one of these stressors, our physiology
reacts at some level to it…..that’s a lot right?
• Also consider our intake of substances that often increase stress and anger, such as sugar, caffeine,
excess food and nicotine.
• Over time, repeated and prolonged activation of the stress response takes a toll on the body
contributing to
• high blood pressure
• promoting the formation of artery-clogging deposits
• causing brain changes that may contribute to anxiety, depression, and even addiction. Research also
• Research also suggests that chronic stress may also contribute to obesity, both directly (causing
people to eat more) or indirectly (decreasing sleep and exercise).
• We often keep somewhat of a lid on it which ends up being blown off over something quite
innocuous like being cut off by another driver on our way to work and we probably default to anger.
Just for today, I will not be angry- page 13
• So for today do not anger… of course we have to address the
balance through exercise, healthy eating, mindfulness, walks,
yoga, pilates, reiki treatments, quality time with family and in
nature and doing things that bring us joy and in the moment
when we get cut off in traffic, why not just take a deep
breath, relax, forgive and let it go.
• What will you achieve by remaining angry and cutting him off
to "get back at him?" nothing. All that you'll end up with is an
elevated heart rate and more stress which is not good for
your well-being
Just for today, I will not be angry- page 14
• This doesn’t mean to keep anger bottled up inside or to pretend that it isn't there. But
don’t let anger consume you.
• Use reiki to become more aware of yourself and to change your stinking thinking.
• Remember that energy flows where intention goes and we attract all of that which we
experience in life.
• If you have experienced an angry situation, avoid thinking through the wounded ego, be
subjective and look at yourself as an energetic being and seek what aspect of you has
attracted that situation and what could be the learning from it.
• The anger might not have felt good but regardless how we judge it, it is certainly rich in
experience and opportunities to learn.
• We attract to ourselves that which we are, and
• what you hold in mind tends to manifest
• so when you can look at the situation that you react to with anger you can often uncover
information about yourself and your expectations.
Just for today, I will not be angry- page 14
• Something I took from a book I read years ago called
Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch about
choosing to create a response to something rather than just
reacting to it was that “REACTIVE” and “CREATIVE” are the
same 8 letters, it just depends on how you “C” it. The soul
creates, the mind reacts so become a Creator, rather than
Reactor.
Just for today, I will be Grateful- page 15
• Cultivating an attitude of feeling blessed for all that you have and experience and
also feeling joy for the benefits and blessings of others seems like common sense
and a general way of life that’s easy to comprehend as good and nurturing and
positive.
• But in a world where it is also so common to want something else or more, is it hard
to cultivate, maintain and practice gratitude?
• If we continuously want, then we programme ourselves to want. If want is a
predominant energy that we send out to the universe then that is what we will get
back…. more experience of wanting, remember:
• we attract to ourselves that which we are, and
• what you hold in mind tends to manifest.
• Like attracts like and lack attracts lack,
• so staying positive and grateful for what you have and what you are is a way of life
that will attract more blessings into your life
Just for today, I will be Grateful- page 15
• Studies in all fields of science including psychiatry,
psychology and more show that being thankful has many
positive results in many aspects of our lives.
• Physiologically it improves our physical and emotional health
• boosts our immune system
• Increases blood supply to our heart,
• Increases alertness, enthusiasm, energy and improves our sleep.
• Reduces the stress hormone cortisol
• In other words, these findings suggest that people with an
“attitude of gratitude” experience lower levels of stress.
Just for today, I will be Grateful- page 15
• Simply being grateful for being alive is a great way to motivate oneself to
seize the day.
• The idea that tomorrow is not guaranteed can be a strong motivator for
some people.
• So maybe we can be grateful for
• just being, and being alive right now
• for everything that is alive right now
• for all of the experiences that we continue to have in this human life
• not just the ones that made us laugh and smile and feel joy, but all of the
other experiences that in the past we judged as negative
• the other souls involved who are on their journey too.

• So, philosophers have suggested that gratitude is one of the most
important human emotions for the success of the society, and
• Religious and spiritual thinkers have suggested that it is a crucial
aspect of religious and spiritual life.
• Modern psychology research confirms that gratitude is an important
social emotion that can benefit the lives of people who practice it,
and that practicing gratitude itself can also benefit other people.
• Physiology shows the benefits of practicing gratitude are powerful
and suggest it’s perfect for reducing stress and anxiety.
• Actually, on paper it seems harder to not be thankful as we have
every reason to be. We just need to practice it more and more
Just for today, I do my work honestly-
page 17
• that “honest work” is not just job related but in the sense of spiritual wholeness
• it is widely considered that Usui was also directing this towards meditation and similar spiritual
practices as work.
• Also, we are not just talking about being honest with others here, the most important person you must
be honest with is yourself.
• Without honesty, we live in disaccord with reality, which bears a myriad of hidden problems.
• Honesty is truth, and refers to the accurate perception of ourselves, each other, and the outside world.
• We can only heal to the degree that we are honest, for what goes unnoticed, especially inside us, will
remain largely unchanged.
• Our true essence and our spirituality are no exceptions and so let’s illuminate them using the light of
honesty, which will
• bring clarity to some ideas of our reality,
• aid in getting to know ourselves on a deeper level and
• facilitate living a more conscious life.
• This may begin with just asking yourself some tough questions, which may be difficult or
uncomfortable now but will have an immense payoff in the enjoyment of your life.
Just for today, I do my work honestly-
page 17
•In your life right now, are you doing what you want to do, that which fills you with joy
and aligns with the true aspects of your being? If not, why not?
•Being incarnate on earth gives our soul the divine opportunity to live our souls’ mission
which is perfectly aligned with that souls’ evolution, growth and learning, which in turn
is an important role of a higher plan that affects all souls.
•The souls’ mission includes many aspects including:
• delighting in the experience of the miracle of the human sensory perception
• developing wisdom from learning something and then teaching to others
• building spiritual mastery through continuously returning to the state of love after
every event in which we encounter fear
• serving others in a way that’s perfect and joy-filled
• experiencing pure joy by cultivating love and joy in the souls’ life and that of others.
Just for today, be kind to every living thing
- page 18
•What you give out, you receive back tenfold.
•Be nice, loving and caring to everyone and everything
•we all deserve love and kindness.
•Being aware of ourselves as part of an interconnected whole and understanding
that what we put into life is what returns to us.
•When we are not worrying or being angry and are grateful for our life and work we
will naturally be kind.
•The repeated call just for today reminds us to live in the present.
•To look at what it means to be kind to every living thing we need to further explore
our interconnectedness, the mechanics and power of our thoughts, feelings and
actions and our influence on the kindness we co-create and experience in this
world.
Universal Energy Field - page 18
•We live in a sea of energy, called the Universal Energy Field (UEF).
•Quantum physics/mechanics, including quantum field theory, is a
fundamental theory in physics which
• describes nature at the smallest scales of energy at the levels of atoms and
subatomic particles and it refers to this field of possibilities as the “Quantum
Soup.”
•Here in the west we refer to a life force, but no matter what we call
it, it is still the same energy that powers all living organisms, is the
“stuff” of the Universe and only realises its potential when in motion.
•Third Law of Hermetic Wisdom:
• “Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”
The Law of Vibration- page 19
•ancient concept that forms the basis for many contemporary
scientific observations and theories and states that:
Page 21 - 27

•it’s something to do with energy flowing out of someones’ hands.
•To reconcile this concept with a lot of other aspects of their human experience:
• science that they learned in school
• religion that they have identified with probably since their childhood is not easy.
• Reiki and energy therapy in general are also relatively young
• in terms of practicable concepts that have existed over here in the western world only since Takata brought
them to Hawaii and then the U.S. after she became a Reiki master in 1938.
• This coupled with the inability to tangibly reach out and see, touch and explore with our
senses in order to understand it also compounds the task of understanding it.
•New information about reiki continues to come to light
•New means of measurement are being introduced
•People have more access to information
•and so the understanding of the essence of Reiki and its applications is
constantly in flux

•Applying our limited human mind and the confines of language to grasp and
apply the correct terminology to something that
•is a universal life force that….
•animates everything in the universe and……
•has an innate intelligence and…...
•unlimited potential
•seems like an exercise in futility in terms of scale and accuracy and
comprehensiveness
How Reiki Works – An opinion in flux -
page 21
•Reiki is now being recognised throughout the scientific community as something
tangible and measurable which scientifically can be understood to an extent,
especially when we consider the universe from a quantum perspective.
•Following on from the section in this manual about
• energy and empty space,
• the laws of vibration and attraction and
• the universal energy field,
•scientists are now realising that the answer to the question of life and our
physical perception lies in the energetic make up of all things.
•Einstein himself in his expression of his famous equation E=mc², which in lay-
mans’ terms means energy is equal to mass multiplied by the speed of light
shows, that in fact, all matter is energy, and everything is made up of energy.
Beyond our sphere of perception - page
21/22
•What we perceive as solid, is in fact not, it is a question of frequency.
•Within our limited basic five senses, we are only able to perceive a fraction of
these vibrations.
•Science tells us that there are frequencies infinitely beyond our sphere of
perception. In simple terms consider the use of a dog whistle
•“light-beings”, having a “light-body”, “We’re all Beings of Light”,
•Most of us perceive each other as clearly physical rather than clearly light.
•We may intellectually accept the idea that we are ‘light’, but what does the
phrase actually mean? What is Light anyway?
•Seems like the perfect time to dive to a deeper understanding of how reiki
works by looking at the more traditional explanation of the energetic systems
of the body
Energetic systems of the body
Page 27 - 55
Energetic systems of the body – page 27
•Right, so we know that for thousands of years, an approach of Eastern medicine
has focused on the relationship between
• the energy of the Universal Energy Field (UEF), called Ki, Chi, Prana, the force, etc and
• the electromagnetic energy field of the human body, the Aura or Human Energy Field
(HEF).
•This energy flows
• in and out of the body through swirling cone-shaped vortexes called Chakras
• through the body via major pathways called meridians and nadis and
• between the meridians via channels.
•As we journey through our lives, this flow of energy can become limited or
restricted (energy blockages) caused by energy imprints from situations that
were too much for our system to safely experience.
• can limit our experience of life, deplete our energy and zest for life and can also result of
course in disease
•Reiki practitioners support bodys’ natural ability to rebalance flow of energy
The Aura – Human Energy Field – page 27
•In Latin/Ancient Greek = wind, breeze or breath (English "gentle breeze“) 11-1500
•Used in spiritualist circles - Subtle emanation around body by end of the 1800’s
•Between then and 1970’s aura and chakras reinterpreted by others speculating
about nature of soul based on mystical insight - American clairvoyant Edgar Cayce
•New Age language embedded in todays language – Comp Therapy – See my Aura?
•# different healing modalities, lines of thought, health, well-being and spiritual
concepts that include aura over the last 50 years = no surprise that research into
the subject from all of those different areas, groups, beliefs and standpoints has
given rise to a whole range of theoretical models of the energy body which may
subtly differ from each other. This is evident in such details as:
• whether the aura has layers or not and if so
• the number, quality and essence of each layer
•most commonly accepted model + what resonates with me, my life & experience
The Aura – Human Energy Field – page 28
•The Human Energy Field or aura or often called the astral body
•Manifestation of universal energy centred on/intimately involved with human life.
•Described as a luminous body that surrounds and interpenetrates physical body
•Although it is a single unified electromagnetic field, our perception is that it is
divisible into layers (sometimes called bodies) that interpenetrate and surround
each other in successive layers with each succeeding body having higher vibrations
than the body that it surrounds and interpenetrates.
•Each layer or body can be further defined by location, colour, brightness, form,
density, fluidity and function and all together contributes to the aura emitting its
own characteristic frequency of radiation (remember our dominant frequencies!).
•Each layer is associated with a chakra - 1st layer associated with 1st chakra
The Aura – Human Energy Field – page 28
•The first layer and chakra - with automatic and autonomic functioning of the body.
•The second layer and second chakra - the emotional aspect of human beings.
•The third layer and third chakra - our mental life, with linear thinking.
•The fourth level and heart chakra, is the vehicle through which we love, not only
our mates, but also humanity in general.
•The fifth level associated with a higher will more connected with the divine will.
• The fifth chakra is associated with the power of the word, speaking things into being, listening
and taking responsibility for our actions.
•The sixth level and sixth chakra - celestial love that extends beyond the human
range of love and encompasses all life.
•The seventh layer and seventh chakra - the higher mind, knowing and integration
of our spiritual and physical makeup.
The Aura – The Etheric Body – page 29
•Named after the word ether - the state between energy and matter, the etheric
body is considered as lower astral
•Some people see a bluish or greyish colour or a light blue on dark blue grid,
composed of tiny energy lines like a sparkling web of light beams
•Has the same structure as the physical body with anatomical parts and organs.
•Connected to the root chakra, extends an inch or two out from the body
•Most associated with the physical body and as such may be the easiest to see.
•Connected to the sacral chakra, much more fluid structure than the etheric
• does not duplicate the physical body the way the etheric does.
•Consist of soft multi coloured clouds of light visible from one to six inches out
from the body
•This layer will show dark spots, cloudy and stagnant areas where emotional
blocks and pain exist.
The Aura – The Mental Body – page 29
•Composed of still finer substances - associated with thoughts/mental
processes, linear thinking and personal power.
•The mental body is connected to the solar plexus chakra
•It expands and becomes brighter when its owner is concentrating on mental
processes.
•It extends from three to eight inches from the body
•Is a structured body containing the structure of our ideas and thought forms
appearing to be blobs of varying brightness and form.
•These thought forms have additional colours superimposed on them
emanating from emotional level - represents emotion connected to the thought.
The Aura – The Crucible – page 29
•These three bodies are the lower astral and together make up the personality
•Begin to be created at conception and dissolve at death.
•Lower three metabolise energies related to the physical world
•Upper three metabolise energies related to the spiritual world.
•In the middle lies the fourth layer or astral level, associated with heart chakra
•the transforming crucible through which
• Spiritual energy must pass through the fire of the heart to be transformed into the lower
physical energies
• Physical energies of the lower three auric layers must pass through the transformative fire
of the heart to become spiritual energies.
•Upper three chakras are the physical, emotional and mental functioning of the
human being in their spiritual reality
• where there is the higher will
• the higher feelings of love
• higher knowing, where whole concepts are understood at once.
The Aura – The Astral Body – page 30
•The astral body is connected with the heart chakra
•Perceived to be amorphous (without a clearly defined shape or form)
•Composed of multi coloured clouds infused with the rose light of love
•Extends out about 0.5 to 1 foot from the body.
•Associated with the heart and love (both specific and universal),
•This layer connects the lower three levels with the higher three
•It is considered that virtually all healing energy comes through this, the first of
the spiritual layers.
The Aura – The Etheric Template – page
30
•The etheric template layer is associated with the throat chakra and as such with
speech and communication, listening and taking responsibility for ones’ own
actions.
•Called the etheric template because it contains all the forms that exist on the
physical plane in a blueprint or template form and is associated with the higher
aspects of will and is more connected with the divine will.
•It is very rare for people to be really aware of this layer but has been perceived
by some as a blue grid light ball like a blueprint around the body
•Extending about 1.5 to 2.5 feet out from the body
•When balanced and active it can promote feelings of bliss and a feeling of being
moved by the divine.
•It is the level at which sound creates matter and where sounding in healing is
the most effective
The Aura – The Celestial Body – page 30
•The emotional level of the spiritual plane, connected with the third eye chakra
•composed of pastel colours with beautiful gold-silver shimmering, opalescent
threads of light
•Extending about 2 - 2.75 feet from the body.
•Level through which we raise our consciousness to experience spiritual ecstasy
(through meditation or other transformation work) by reaching the point of
“being” where:
• we have a nurturing awareness of oneself as connected with all the universe,
• when we see the light and love in everything in existence,
• when we are immersed in the light and feel we are of it and it is of us
• feel that we are one or in union with God or all that is.
The Aura – The Ketheric Template – page
31
•The ketheric template layer is the mental level of the spiritual plane
•Composed of thousands of threads of pulsating, shimmering gold-silver light of
very strong durability that hold the whole form of the aura together including a
golden grid structure of the physical body and all the chakras
•Extending from about 2.5 to 3.5 feet from the body.
•It can also be perceived as having an outer edge, 0.25 – 0.5 inches thick
resembling a very strong, protective and resilient eggshell, resistant to
penetration.
•Connected to the crown chakra, it is associated with the
• higher mind,
• connection with the divine
• spiritual information
• integration of the spiritual and physical aspects of being.
Energy Imprints and the Nature of Disease – page

The Chakras – page 33
•Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or vortex - refers to the perceived
shape of the energy vortices that are found in the HEF.
•A chakra occurs where two energy channels intersect
• so there are known to be over 80,000 chakras.
• Energy channels are sometimes referred to as Meridians (of which there are 14 major
meridians) and also Nadis.
•In some theoretical models there can be twelve major chakras however the
most common models in the west concentrate on the seven main chakras
•The two minor chakras located in the palms are of course very important in
healing
• transmit healing energy and receive energetic information from the universe.
• channel healing energies to yourself and others
• receive impressions of the energy of a room, person, chakra, situation, etc
The Chakras – page 34
•The seven major chakras are found in a vertical line
down the front and back of the central channel in the
energy field.
•In the same way that the central nervous system of
our physical body consists of the spinal cord leading
to the brain, the energetic equivalent is the central
channel
•Each major chakra on the front of the body is paired
with its counterpart on the back of the body, and
together are considered to be the front and rear
aspect of one chakra.
•The points or tips of the chakras, where they connect
to the central channel, are called the roots or the
hearts of the chakras.
The Chakras – page 35
•Whereas the function of the spinal cord is to relay impulses to and from the
brain and other parts of the body, the central channel, channels energy from the
UEF to and from the Crown and root chakras and so most of the reiki energy
flows through the central channel.
•Energy from the UEF is drawn into the body through each spinning chakra
•each swirling vortex of energy can be perceived to function like whirlpools,
cyclones, tornadoes and hurricanes.
•Location: The heart chakra’s centre is right over your heart and thymus gland and
it radiates down to your breastbone and up to your throat.
•Governs: This chakra governs the heart, blood, vagus nerve and the circulatory
system, lungs, shoulders and upper back
•Endocrine: Thymus
•Blocked: fearing rejection, loving too much, feeling unworthy to receive love
and self-pitying
Chakra # 5 - The Throat Chakra – page 40
•Colour: Blue
•Location: Centre of the throat, near the Adam's apple and it radiates down to
the centre of your heart and up to the centre of your eyes.
•Function: Influences communication, creativity, true self-expression and the
ability to listen.
• This chakra gives a voice to your personal truths.
• This chakra lets you speak your truth with clarity.
• Resting right above the heart, the throat chakra is connected to the compassion and love you have
for yourself and others
• Linked with all forms of communication, corresponds to the need for balance between the rational,
cerebral, approach and the emotional expression of the heart.
•Governs: Bronchial and vocal apparatus, lungs, alimentary canal, throat, neck,
teeth, ears and thyroid gland.
•Endocrine: Thyroid/Parathyroid
•Blocked: holding back from self-expression, being unreliable or holding
inconsistent views
Chakra # 6 - The Third Eye Chakra – page
41
•Colour: Indigo
•Location: The third eye’s centre is above and between your eyebrows. It radiates
down to your mouth and up to the top of your head.
•Function: Influences your imagination, intuition and psychic abilities.
• The Third Eye chakra opens up your mind to information beyond the material world and the 5
senses.
• Extra sensory perception, intuition or psychic energy, all comes from the third eye.
• There is actually a small pinecone shaped gland in your brain that takes in light. This gland is
responsible for helping you feel awake in the daytime and sleepy at night. Long before brain imaging,
ancient cultures knew this Third Eye existed, and they also realized that it receives information from
sources outside of the five senses.
•Governs: Lower brain, left eye, ears, nose, nervous system
•Endocrine: Pituitary gland - This includes the hormone which produces
contractions during labour-and releases milk from the breasts during
lactation.
•Blocked: being undisciplined, fearing success, having a tendency towards
schizophrenia, setting sights too low and nightmares.
Chakra # 7 - The Crown Chakra – page 42
•Colour: Violet, Gold and White
•Location: Top/crown and centre of the head. It radiates down to between your
eyes and then extends infinitely upward and outward, connecting you
to the energy of the rest of the universe.
•Function: Known as the seat of spirituality and link with the Higher Self,
expanded consciousness, Divine communication and inter-
connectedness with all things and all knowledge.
• The Crown chakra is pure consciousness energy.
• Consciousness energy is everywhere and in everything. It connects us to the entire universe.
• Our own personal consciousness is located in the 7th chakra, but it’s really more like the seed of a
universal energy than something personal or individual.
•Governs: Upper brain, right eye
•Endocrine: Pineal Gland
•Blocked: being constantly exhausted, an inability to make decisions, alienation,
poor sleep or depression
The Meridians – page 45
•The meridian system is a concept in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) about a path
through which the life-energy flows.
•This meridian concept has typical characteristics of ancient Chinese philosophy
•Like Reiki and the concept of chakras, over time TCM gained influence in the West and
takes pride and place in many health modalities and philosophical theories.
•All familiar with acupuncture/acupressure - is underpinned by the meridian concept
•The fact that the whole body is systemically treated in a reiki treatment coupled with
reikis’ innate intelligence means that any blocks or issues in the meridian system are
covered by the mere practice of laying on of hands
•You can treat the meridians via hand positions intended specifically for that or you can
apply reiki via tracing, which is simply moving your open hand (quickly and fairly
generally), either a few inches above or directly on your body, along the course of
each of the 14 meridians
•Each meridian is most active at certain times of the day/night - focus on a specific
meridian given the time of the day you are treating at
The Meridians: Yin/Yang Energy Flow -
page 45
•In oriental medical philosophy we learn that there is energy that is
• magnetic, consisting of a north pole and a south pole,
• expressed in the body as positive and negative polarities.
•The positive power is called Yang, or male, and the negative is called Yin, or female.
•The Yin energy flows, up from the feet toward the head
•The Yang down from the head toward the feet.
•Meridians are the pathways of the positive and negative energy that carry on some of
the communications between the parts of the human being.
•These meridians have been measured and mapped by modern technological methods -
electronically, thermally, and radioactively, showing that new tubular structures exist
• inside and outside of blood vessels and lymphatic vessels
• on the surface of internal organs
• under the dermis
•The current Korean researchers now believe the primo-vascular system is
• in fact the physical component of the Acupuncture Meridian System
• involved in channelling energy flow of energy and information relayed by biophotons and DNA.

The Meridians System - page 46
•500 Specific acupuncture points exist along the meridians.
•These points are electro-magnetic in character
• located by hand, with micro-electrical voltage meters and with muscle testing.
•The meridian system is comprised of
•Ten organ meridians, named for the associated life function and name of an organ.
•Two function meridians - both of which are generalized functions of the body
• The Circulation-Sex meridian is related to the overall circulation of all bodily fluids.
• The Triple Warmer meridian is related to temperature regulation, immune response, metabolism,
passions and survival responses.
•Two midline meridians - like storage batteries and deal with energy in & out the body
• The Central meridian flows from the pubic bone up the centre of the body to the lower lip.
• Governing flows from the tailbone up the spine, over the top of the head to the upper lip.
•Meridian Cycle is a continuous, unbroken pathway where energy flows in one definite
direction, from one meridian to another, in a well- determined order
•Throughout the course of the day and night, each meridian reaches a peak of energy,
one after another, in this same order, best represented as a wheel, or a 24-hour clock
The Lung Meridian - page 47
Function: Regulates respiration and intake of energy.
Symptoms of imbalance:
• Viral and bacterial infections
• excessive perspiration
• inflammation issues in the upper parts of the body
• problems with the olfactory organs (nose/sense of smell)
• adverse skin conditions.
Time of day: 3:00am – 5:00am
Element: Metal
The Large Intestine Meridian - page 47
Function:
Extracts and processes water from waste material
before expelling it.
Symptoms of imbalance:
• Abdominal pains
• On an emotional level, difficulty holding on or letting go.
Element: Metal
The Stomach Meridian - page 47
Function:
• Digests and extracts energy from food
• Distributes that energy to the spleen and
intestines.
Symptoms of imbalance:
• Feelings of worry and nervousness
• lack of acceptance.
Time of day: 7:00am – 9:00am
Element: Earth
The Spleen Meridian - page 47
Function:
• Distributes nutrients throughout the body
• maintains muscle and limb tone
• regulates blood flow.
Symptoms of imbalance:
• Diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, lack of appetite,
• prolapsed internal organs, weak muscles, general fatigue,
• brain fog, and absentmindedness.
Element: Fire
The Bladder Meridian - page 48
Function:
• Removes liquid waste from the body
Symptoms of imbalance:
• Stiffness in the neck and shoulders, headaches, back pains
• all urinary diseases.
Element: Water
The Kidney Meridian - page 48
Function:
• Stores sexual energy, regulates the
reproductive system, and produces blood and
bone marrow
Symptoms of imbalance:
• Genital-urinary disorders, backaches, asthma, and tinnitus.
• On an emotional level, the kidney meridian controls
willpower, determination, and ability to cope with hardship.
Element: Water
The Circulation Sex Meridian - page 49
Function:
• Area surrounding the heart and protects,
lubricates, and removes excess energy from the
heart.
• This is important because it disperses energy
throughout the body preventing the heart from
becoming over-energized.
Symptoms of imbalance:
• Disorders of the heart, chest, and stomach, as well as
difficulty expressing emotions, depression, aversions, and
phobias
Time of day: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Element: Fire
The Triple Warmer Meridian - page 49
Function:
• The triple warmer, also called the triple burner
or San Jiao, controls the body as a whole.
Rather than being responsible for a particular
organ system, it controls metabolism and
regulates heat, moisture, and body
temperature.
• Symptoms of imbalance:
• A wide range of disorders—since the triple warmer is
responsible for the whole body, an issue with any organ in the
body is in some way associated to an imbalance in the triple
warmer meridian.
• Time of day: 9:00pm – 11:00pm
• Element: Fire
The Gallbladder Meridian - page 49
Function:
• Stores and expels bile produced by the liver.
• Symptoms of imbalance:
• Bloating, liver pains, and yellow discoloration of tongue, skin,
or urine.
• Element: Wood
The Liver Meridian - page 49
Function:
• Circulates energy, regulates menstruation and
the female reproductive system
• Maintains flexibility of tendons and ligaments.
• Symptoms of imbalance:
• Menstrual disorders, dry skin and eyes, jaundice, blurred
vision, vertigo, stiff joints, and headaches.
• On an emotional level, an imbalance of energy in the liver
meridian results in anger, irritability, depression, and a lack of
control and emotional flexibility.
• Time of day: 1:00am – 3:00am
• Element: Wood
The Central Meridian (Conception Vessel) - page
50 Function:
• Brain functions and innate intelligence of the
whole soul in each cell and in overall co-
ordination of internal wisdom (doing things
automatically whilst other things consciously).
• Linked with letting go of previously useful
ideas, things, emotions, views..
• Symptoms of imbalance:
• Physical diseases of the urogenital system, hernia, cough,
breathing difficulties, breast problems, conditions of the
mouth, throat, oesophagus, stomach, heart, womb, bladder
and sexual organs.
• Emotionally feeling wounded, embarrassed, shy, humiliated,
weak, or bullied
The Governing Meridian - page 50
Function:
• Storage Vessel for excess or used energy before
release by the breath. Standing, spine and
pineal functions. Related to the burdens that a
person is figuratively or literally carrying.
• Symptoms of imbalance:
• spinal problems, mental disorders, fever, nose problems,
headaches
•The pituitary, in turn, is controlled by the hypothalamus, which has its own set of
hormones which tell the pituitary what to do
•The pineal gland produces melatonin, a serotonin- derived hormone which modulates
sleep patterns in both circadian (24 hour cycle of daytime and night-time) and seasonal
cycles.
•The shape and size of the gland make it resemble a pine nut, inferring its name.
•The pineal glands’ production of melatonin affects the other glands in the endocrine
system
•Parathyroid glands - Situated at the back (anterior) make parathyroid hormone (PTH):
• controls the level of calcium in the bloodstream
• acts all over the place (bone, kidney, gut).
•In addition to physical growth these glands are also thought to affect ones’ mental
development.
•The Throat Chakra, linked to all forms of communication, corresponds to the need for
• balance between the rational, cerebral and the emotional expression of the heart.
The Endocrine system: Thymus - page 53
•The thymus is a lymphoid gland comprised of two identically sized lobes, located
behind the sternum (breastbone) but in front of the heart.
•It produces growth hormone that stimulate general growth especially early in life.
• At puberty, the thymus reaches the height of its use, becoming its largest.
• After this age, the size of the thymus declines.
•Largest during childhood and shrinks after puberty, but its effect on your body’s
defences last your whole life
•It has a purifying role in the body by stimulating the production of lymphocytes, which
• forms a vital part of the body’s immune response
• forms part of the bloods’ white cells defence system, attacking invading organisms and providing
immunity.
•This Purifying Quality relates the thymus to the healing properties of the Heart
Chakra.
The Endocrine system: Pancreas - page 54
•The pancreas lies behind the stomach and secretes a variety of substances essential
for the effective digestion of food.
•It has an
• exocrine part (which secretes enzymes that help break down food) and an
• endocrine part (which secretes hormones, like insulin).
•Insulin is a hormone that helps get sugar into most cells of the body.
•Insulin controlled by blood sugar; when blood sugar goes up, insulin goes up.
•When the Solar Plexus Chakra is over stimulated it can cause problems with excess
blood sugar, the major cause of diabetes.
•The potential for life in ovaries is mirrored in the drives of the Sacral Chakra through
•our relationship with our own sexuality and
•issues of emotional balance in relation to that.
The Endocrine system: Adrenal Glands -
pg 55
•The adrenals are triangular shaped glands that cap each of the kidneys.
•The adrenals have a cortex (with three layers) and a medulla. The cortex secretes:
• Mineralocorticoids: help regulate blood pressure
• Glucocorticoids: help regulate blood sugar and a ton of other things, like immune function
• Sex steroids: help regulate reproductive functions, and are important during sexual development
• This ties directly to the Root Chakra’s association with the drive for survival.
The Benefits and Effects of Reiki
Page 56 - 63
The Benefits of Reiki - page 56
•Benefits from reiki are boundless
•Because it……
• breaks up and washes away any lodged negative energy imprints and blockages and
• flows where it is needed and creates the healing conditions necessary for the individuals needs
• allowing their body to return to maintaining homeostasis (the condition of a dynamic state of
equilibrium of optimal functioning in the body).
•it makes sense that reiki can benefit every illness, injury or problem in some way.
•Improve the effectiveness of all other types of therapy & medical treatment
• acting to reduce negative side effects
• shorten healing time
• reduce or eliminate pain
• reduce stress
• and help create optimism and help with the grieving process
The Benefits of Reiki - page 56
•Stress reduction and relaxation are the best proved health benefits of Reiki.
•Heightening intuition
•Creativity and problem solving as it can open us to the realm of intuition and guidance.
•Enables development of intuition to a level that’s akin to having psychic abilities
•Lifestyle change
• Use reiki to bolster your determination and help you to stay focussed on changes
•Curbing fears
• challenge the limiting thinking patterns that underpin thoughts and emotions that keep us stuck.
• Shine the light of reiki on thoughts such as
• “I won’t be able to do it”, “nobody cares anyway”, “I don’t want to let anyone down” and “sure what’s the point anyway”.
•Healing illnesses
•Sleep & Reducing Stress
•Clearing Crystals and Charging Toys
Possible effects during and after Reiki-
page 60
•During a Reiki treatment, both the Reiki practitioner and the recipient receive a
treatment of reiki and both may feel reiki sensations.
•Feeling deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well- being on all levels
•Feel somatic sensations during the treatment such as heat and cold, tingling
•Might see colours
•Some have an emotional response such as crying, laughing and everything in between
•Some people can yawn a few times and fall asleep.
•I see all of these indications that energy shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be
restored.
•Your perception of these can differ from the recipient as each is an interpretation of the
moving energy, filtered through each of your perceptions.
The Recipient experience - page 60
•Set New Client up with understanding of the range of possible reiki sensations.
•Set the time and space as a place of honesty, trust and privacy, a place where they can
truly be themselves, take off the mask, emote, sleep or scream.
•You will not be able to pre-empt exactly what is going to happen
•Ensure that you are prepared to support them throughout.
•If you do have a recipient going through a strong outward expression of emotion during
the treatment
• let it happen and wait for the right time to tell them that it’s totally ok
• ask them if they are ok to continue?.
• They may settle a bit and then it may kick off again, just stick with it,
• it’s obviously what needs to happen - witness, honour, support and be a part of it.
•“Reiki Sensations” can be very subtle and may be easily overlooked, but with
continued practice most people will begin to notice even the slightest shifts of energy
•Not experiencing these through 5 senses, doesn’t mean it’s not strong and effective
•Remember to ask that your ego be put aside and detach yourself from all and any
outcomes.
•Trust it and let everything else go…. simple as that!
The Practitioner experience - page 61
•Opposing sensations
•Warmth on one palm and a coolness on the other palm
•Indicates reiki is working away at clearing an imbalance, blockage, etc.
•Especially apparent where the hand position covers two aspects/sides of the body
•left and right side of the body and brain associated with different aspects of person
•masculine (right side of the body and left brain)
•feminine (left side of the body and right brain).
•Hold the position until they level out and feel the same.
•Your body or hands may heat up and start channelling reiki whenever you are near
anyone who is receptive to Reiki.
•You might also find that people start to tell you things, normally beyond your previous
relationship or this can even happen with strangers.
• If you are comfortable with doing so, try not to push it, stop it or drag it out, let it take its course
• Active listening is probably exactly what the person needed for whatever reason.
From Attunement to Treatment
Page 63 - 73
First Degree Reiki Attunement - page 63
•Structured process - Reiki teacher passes on the ability to channel the Reiki energy.
•The process involves:
• the energetic stimulation of the channels responsible for channelling energy
• clearing any blocks to Reiki in your aura and connecting you to the ability to run Reiki energy by
means of a direct transmission to your energy body (aura).
•Focus is to ensure that the universal energy flows through the individual freely.
•This process is simple, non-invasive & not a ritual or tied into any religious philosophy.
•The process has been handed down from Dr. Usui and was the method he used in Reiki
classes to enhance the flow of energy through participants
•From puberty onwards, we stimulate activity in the lower part of the energy channel
and the lower three endocrine glands, as our focus shifts to:
• basic survival,
• Sexuality & relationships
• Victimization & control
•In the process of change and healing you may notice a PEMS cleansing occurring.
• Headaches, coughing, runny noses,
• a slight flare up of an existing condition
• being tired for a few days
• mild irritation and emotion (moving out of old habits and emotional responses)
•See the Big Picture - Would you prefer to free yourself of them or bury them again?
•Some people can notice improvements in their
• physical health, confidence levels, self- empowered, emotional makeup and thought patterns
•Always treat clients and students with the utmost respect and honour.
•Have a pure and clear intention to offer your services for the highest healing/good
• of the client and highest potential of the student.
•A ritual that feels intuitively right for you is important for putting yourself into a frame
of mind where you are relaxed, focussed, receptive and aware.
•To use reiki, just intending it to work now and letting it flow is enough
•Practice and having a structure of how to start and finish helps with keeping the ego
and conscious mind from getting involved unnecessarily.
•Note: Practitioners reserve the right, at their discretion, to refuse Reiki to members of
the general public for reasons of personal safety, including the abuse of alcohol and
mind-altering substances
Start, Middle and End of a treatment-
•Drugs are bad…..don’t do drugs!
page 66
• Reiki federation of Ireland guidelines state that the use of alcohol and/or mind-altering substances is
strictly forbidden when practising or teaching Reiki.
• Some people say not to even give treatment after a heavy meal will affect your ability to channel the energy effectively.
• After years of training - or if you are already very skilled at listening to your intuition -you may be able
to "see" ailments in your clients just by looking at them.
• If you don't get a clear message with the Reiji-ho right away, hold one or both of your hands over the
client's crown chakra and tune into their energy body.
• If you still can't tell, either proceed with a whole-body treatment or use Byosen scanning method.
• Byosen Scanning is scanning the client's aura from head to toe about 2"- 4" above the body, searching
for a sensation of energy in your hands (tingling, heat and cold, pulling, tugging, flow, etc), a noticeable
increased warmth or coldness in a particular area, a magnetic feeling, or a simple knowing.
• Wherever you experience a difference in sensation in the client's aura is an indication that the area

•Ready to begin?
page 68
• You are now ready to begin the treatment. Consciously and intently connect with their aura.
• Usually they will feel wonderfully relaxed, euphoric even, as though walking on air.
• No two treatments are ever exactly alike, as it all depends on the persons’ state and their particular
needs at the time.
•Develop your awareness of how you breathe normally and in times you are meditating
or practicing reiki.
Importance visualisation & meditation –
•“Winning” where Henry Shefflin
pg 71
• visualisation caused all of the same neurological triggering of the brain and in turn its physiological
messaging to the rest of the body as actually doing something.
• So, visualising something and experiencing something are almost the same (physiologically anyway).
• The power of visualisation and the power of our thoughts.
•We use visualisation in meditation & treatment in terms of our perception and intuition
but also in grounding techniques
•Used by practitioner and the patient to relax the mind and the body
•Thought is very creative and is the energy that sets everything into motion
•The subconscious mind responds to thoughts, negative or positive.
•Visualisation is powerful enough in itself to
• assist people back to good health
• helps them get in touch with their own inner power
•Visualising nature and colour in nature automatically helps to regenerate the heart.
•Tension and fear will be replaced by peace and calm.
Connecting with spiritual energy – pg 72
•A practitioner should respect the source of healing energy, which should be received
into the clearest possible channel.
•It is important that the practitioner is relaxed and open, in order to raise his/her
consciousness and connect with the source & essence of reiki at highest level possible
•Thoughts should be focused on love, peace and light.
•The reiki energy can be visualised coming through from the higher self with beautiful
colours such as violet, rose pink and brilliant white.
•Golden light will assist in raising the vibration of your thoughts.
•The practitioner releases this energy from the whole being, through the heart and
hands to the client.
•When the session is over, the practitioner separates mentally and physically
•Both should be firmly grounded and returned to a level suitable for everyday living
Using Reiki self-healing every day – pg 72
•One of the fundamentals of Reiki is to connect with one’s self spiritually, or soul.
•Usui taught his students a specific meditation technique called Hatsurei Ho:
• Hatsu meaning to bring forth,
• Rei meaning spirit
• Ho meaning method.
•Self-healing plays an important part in the Reiki practice for obvious reasons including
• Align yourself with the essence of reiki,
• Refine one’s ability to channel reiki
• Work on your own health and well-being in forms of treatment and maintenance.
•It’s good to ensure to run Reiki into the joints, shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, hips,
and the hands.
•This releases tension and stress that is held in the joints.
•6 Heart: Stand to the right side of the client and sandwich the area by
placing your right hand on the central chest wall and your left hand on the
client's back. Ensure that you do not touch the breast area. If you prefer
you could beam the energy into the front area while maintaining contact
by touching the persons back
•7 Solar Plexus: Sandwich the area over the solar plexus area as you did
with the heart position. Alternatively, use the universal position and place
your left hand on the central chest area and your right hand on the solar
plexus area
•8 Heart: Sandwich the area by placing your right hand on the sacral
area and your left hand on the client's back. Ensure that you do not touch
any sensitive areas. If you prefer you could beam the energy into the front
area while maintaining contact by touching the persons back

•Place your right hand under the person's right hand, interlocking at the
thumbs. Keeping your right hand where it is, you can place your left hand
at the elbow area and the shoulder area.
•At all times keep your hands on the outer aspect of the person's upper leg.
Never go beyond the midline of the trouser
•11 Left Arm: The same technique as used for the right arm is used
except this time your left hand is under the person's left hand
•12 Left Leg: The same technique as used for the right leg is used.

Reiki and Pregnancy – pg 81
•Reiki is both safe and extremely beneficial to an unborn child and a pregnant mother
•Reiki can help during pregnancy in various practical ways too such as it:
• Alleviates morning sickness
• Reduces stress and tiredness
• Can be used to treat painful muscles, joints or the spine
• Strengthens the bond between a mother and her baby.
• When a mother who is attuned to Reiki places her hands on her tummy she is passing pure unconditional love and healing to
her unborn child
• Nourishes the foetus with love and the universal life force and gently comforts, protects and
envelops the unborn baby
• Accelerate the recovery time of the mother and baby after the birth.
• It is especially good for caesareans sections and healing the various scars and stitches often associated with childbirth
• Vitalise and nourish the mother’s milk if the baby is breast fed
• Treat cradle cap, colic
•Important Note: Always consult your doctor no matter how trivial it may seem if you
are concerned about your baby.
Reiki and Children – page 82
•Reiki can be used to treat your children throughout their lives.
• From the early days and months through puberty, adolescence and into adulthood.
•Instinctively we touch or kiss our children better when they fall or injure themselves,
• with Reiki we speed up the healing process and boost their own natural healing abilities.
•Reiki is wonderful for all their aches, pains and discomfort, (constipation)
•Reiki is a special gift you can share with your children too.
•Use Reiki at bedtime to help your children drift off to sleep and it balances your child’s
mind body and spirit leading to a clearer more focussed approach to life.
•When a child has an accident they often cry because of the shock.
• Treat your child by placing one of your hands on their solar plexus and the other at the base of the
spine.
•It is a legal requirement that children up to the age of sixteen (16) years must be
accompanied by a parent/guardian during the Reiki treatment
Reiki and Animals – page 82
Reiki Second Degree Training – page 83
•Prerequisites:
• Completion of the Reiki Level 1 or first-degree training class is required.
•Description:
•Reiki Symbols. The Reiki symbols allow the practitioner to actually connect to and activate a
response from a higher level of consciousness and deeply connect to the universal energy and
qualities that the symbols represent.
•This includes the ability to power up more, focus on mental and/or emotional healing and also
the ability to provide distance Reiki, sending healing energy to individuals, places or instances
