1- Empathize
• Empathy is the first step in design thinking
because it is a skill that allows us to understand and
share the same feelings that others feel. Through
empathy, we are able to put ourselves in other
people's shoes and connect with how they might be
feeling about their problem, circumstance, or
situation.
• Empathy is important for us as designers, and
particularly within the field of design thinking,
because it allows us to truly uncover and
understand the latent needs and emotions of the
people we design for.
1- Empathize

2- Define

• The second stage of design thinking,


where you seek to define the problem
statement in a human-centered manner
• A problem statement identifies the gap
between the current state (i.e. the
problem) and the desired state (i.e. the
goal) of a process or product. Within the
design context, you can think of the user
problem as an unmet need
3- Ideate
• Ideation is a creative process where designers
generate ideas in sessions (e.g., brainstorming,
focus group, etc.). It is the third stage in the Design
Thinking process. Participants gather with open
minds to produce as many ideas as they can to
address a problem statement in a facilitated,
judgment-free environment.
• The purpose of the ideate stage is to push for the
widest range of ideas that can be implemented in
later stages. The ideate stage is important because
it's when a design team moves from understanding
and defining consumer problems to coming up with
solutions for those needs.
4- Prototype
• A prototype is a simple experimental model of a
proposed solution used to test or validate ideas, design
assumptions and other aspects of its conceptualization
quickly and cheaply, so that the designer/s involved can
make appropriate refinements or possible changes in
direction. This stage uses Minimum Viable Product
(MVP) concept to define / produce minimum quantity
of product.
• A prototype is a product built to test ideas and changes
until it resembles the final product. You can mock-up
every feature and interaction in your prototype as in
your fully developed product, check if your idea works,
and verify the overall user-experience (UX) strategy
5- Test

• Testing, in Design Thinking, involves generating


user feedback as related to the prototypes you
have developed, as well as gaining a deeper
understanding of your users.
• Testing is the fifth stage in the five-stage Design
Thinking process. Testing is often undertaken
concurrently with Prototyping, and performed
well, it can provide many learning opportunities
to help you learn more about the user, and
opportunities to refine your prototype and even
the problem statement.
